Life Group Questions
1. People are flawed. So, when someone does something that could offend you, do you see them as someone who will eventually offend you because they are an imperfect/flawed person or are you blinded by the offense?
2. Pastor Ryan mentioned that some of us might need to hit the reset button on our expectations in relationships. Did this resonate with you? If so, how?
3. In Matthew 5:43-47, Jesus commands us to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, do good to those who hate us, and pray for those who use & persecute us. This is challenging for every Christian, but how does this challenge you personally?
4. Pastor Ryan mentioned two steps to dealing with offenders:
1. Look in the mirror first
- We must ask God to search us & make us clean (Psalm 139:23-24)
2. Follow God's strategy for relationships in Ephesians 4
- Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry
- Do not give the devil a foothold
- Get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger
- Be kind & compassionate to one another
- Forgive each other, just as in Christ God forgave you
Which of these is God showing you needs the most attention?
