The article discusses the fragility assessment of reinforced concrete bridges exposed to seismic loads and corrosion over time.
It examines the effects of these factors on the safety and performance of the bridges, and suggests methods for assessing and mitigating the risks associated with them.
Overall, the article highlights the importance of considering the long-term effects of seismic loads and corrosion in the design and maintenance of reinforced concrete bridges.
Description
The paper aims to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the double composite section in high-speed railway bridges from the design, construction and maintenance point of view. The paper is centred around the differences between single and double composite sections.

Dynamic Response of Reinforced Recycled Aggregate Concrete Pavement under Impact Loading
Author(s): Jifeng Yuan, Jin Wu, Tian Su, 5ORCID andDadi
Episode Info:
Chinese researchers compared four reinforced recycled aggregate concrete pavements with varying thickness and ratios of reinforcement and one reinforced normal concrete pavement to determine its potential use for airport runway pavement.
Researchers concluded the dynamic performance of reinforced recycled aggregate concrete pavement was worse than reinforced normal concrete due to lower elastic modulus and weaker interfacial transition zone, though performance improved with increasing thickness and reinforcement ratio.
