They cover the DEI journey and how to begin it, making sure the DEI journey is not a tick list but a cultural change, and asking yourself “why” DEI is important and how you will judge success. Both ladies stress the importance of communicating and listening to people inside the organisation and share their experience starting a business as a partnership. You'll also learn some tricks on how to build a training platform like a software product and how to develop HR projects in an agile way.

She also helps mid-level professionals of color [re]discover their passion(s) and gain clarity on how to reach the next chapter of their careers. She started her journey in career development in 2008. Since then, she has helped numerous individuals think strategically about their personal and professional lives, helping them find clarity, set goals, and take action. In 2015, she began working in the tech recruiting space, and in 2018, after having managed several diversity-related programs and initiatives, she transitioned into diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) full-time.
Caren Young is the Founder and President of The Professional Adult, a consultancy focusing on building solutions, people and teams through training, coaching, workshops and strategic development while integrating diversity, equity and inclusion into all facets of our work lives. Using her background in Advertising, Product Management and People Management, Caren is able to drive data-driven solutions while honoring all of the intersections that are brought into the workplace.
