In our worship services you will often hear the ringing of the Apostles Creed being confessed. Along with the Apostles Creed we also hold to the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed as statements to our shared beliefs. What is remarkable is that throughout Scripture we see that creeds are a very important device that gives a unity of belief and a One Voice approach to the faith that is held by the community. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 is known to be one of the early churches’ statements of faith from around the years 31-35 AD and the Apostles Creed is dated around 370-390 AD. Needless to say we follow in a long line of Christians who have shared with One Voice the things that we are One in Belief on.

This week, we begin with the truth that we are “One in Prayer.” Prayer is a great blessing we all share as we present our needs, wants, cares and desires to God. Throughout Scripture we are reminded and encouraged to be actively engaged in prayer with one another and as we do we share in life’s needs, wants, cares and desires and we do so with “One Voice.”
