  • Episode 10 | Self-Helpless (Romans 7)

We know what is right and even want to do it, yet somehow we keep doing what we shouldn’t. Romans 7 shows that our real need is not more self-help, but honest helplessness that drives us to the only One who can rescue us: Jesus.

  • Tithe for Joy

Deuteronomy teaches that tithing was meant to teach Israel to revere and rejoice before the Lord. Giving was woven into celebration! Paul echoes this spirit when he says, “each one should give what they have decided in their heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. This week we see how the word of God reframes generosity as joy and not pressure. When trust replaces fear, giving becomes a delight. The final invitation is not merely to tithe but to become the kind of people who give with glad and confident hearts.

  • Tithe the Talents

Tithing is not limited to just money. In Exodus, God fills Bezalel with skill and creativity for the building of the tabernacle. These gifts were given to him to be used in the construction of God’s dwelling place with His people. Paul brings this even a step further by saying that whatever we do we are to do it with everything we have because we aren’t working for just people, but we are actually working for God. This week expands the tithe beyond just finances into time, gifting, leadership, hospitality, and service. Trust that Tithes says, “My abilities are not mine to hoard but to invest for the kingdom.”
