  • The Flinstones Package

We're back for episode 121! And this week Mitch is decidedly less drunk, for better or worse.

We talk a little bit about why episode 120 was late, and a little bit about Mitch and Matt's camping trip to Teewah beach a couple of weekends back.

We then break into a bit of news, and Joseph starts us off with news about the new Land Rover Defender's pricing in Australia.

Mitch then has a bit of rumour news from Volkswagen, in that they might be looking to offload Lamborghini to further streamline their model range and to focus on (boring) economy cars... Then Joseph has a bullshit hot take about people in the UAE giving away supercars to people who compliment their supercar.

Joseph then has a bit of news about the Alpina B3 Touring coming to Australia, and then we talk a bit about Bathurst and the debacle that unfolded, and then Joseph goes onto to talk about Renault being under investigation in Formula 1 regarding their alleged rule-breaking with ABS, and Matt talks about the 2021 rule changes to Formula 1. Then Joseph and Matt talk more about Formula 1 and Formula 1 history.

We then play the un-named CarSales game thing we play, this week we have $30,000 to play with.

  • I Don't Open My Throat That Way

We've said it before, and we'll probably say it again in future, but better late than never, here's episode 120!

Mitch is pretty off his tits this episode as he finished up with his last job and had many farewell beers, plus we're joined by Ben from Pencil's Ballercast and the Short One.

Joseph kicks off the episode with the first bit of actual news with a bit of Bathurst and track-day talk.

Mitch then talks briefly talks about Dyson giving up on their electric car manufacturing aspirations, or rather, he tries to talk about it.

Joseph then talks about the Ford Mustang R coming to the Australian market, and we argue about Honda Civic Type R's vs the Ford Mustang.

Then Matt, Joseph, and Ben talk about their trip to VR Motorsports.

Mitch then reviews the Kia Rio he had as a rental recently out to Chinchilla Queensland via Townsville.

All in all, there's a lot of roasting Mitch this week.

We'll be back to our regularly scheduled programming next week.

We're back for episode 119! This week, Matt's back, and he has a few thoughts on episode 118 that he was away for.

Mitch kicks off the news with Koenigsegg breaking the zero to 400kph to zero record.

We then briefly talk about the confirmation of the BRZ/86  Gen 2 concept coming to the Tokyo Motor Show.

Joseph then talks about how since electric cars are coming thick and fast, which will be faster than basically any internal combustion engine available per price bracket, you shouldn't necessarily buy a supercar by performance, but by how it makes you feel.

We then talk a bit of bollocks before we end the episode.

  • Nissan Used To Be Cool

We're back for episode 118! This week, it's just Mitch, Joseph and Joel as Matt's off at a bucks.

Mitch kicks off the news with talking about a chap in America ordering a Tesla, then 3 weeks later received a Tesla's front fender in the mail.

Joseph and Joel then talk about a recent car meet they went to, and the worrying trend of the return of underglow, and a general increase in shitty mods.

Joseph then talks about the 3 OG's from local automotive publication CarAdvice handing in their resignation letters, and moving on from CarAdvice.

Mitch then talks about the rumours surrounding the next generation GT86 / BRZ, which will probably have the FA24 for the powerplant, might use a shared platform with Mazda, and will handle better than the Mk5 Supra.

We then briefly talk about Mazda patenting a new Wankel rotary, but Mitch isn't as excited as everyone else appears to be because this is just hype news, as last we heard the Rotary will only be used as part of a hybrid system as a power generator and not connected directly to the rear wheels.

Mitch then talks about the 2020 Nissan GTR Nismo's pricing and specs being released; it'll be $380,000 AUD (before on-roads) - a whole $80,000 more than the outgoing model, with the same power as the outgoing Nismo.

We then talk about American car dealers being dogs and over-charging for 'popular' or in-demand new cars.

We then answer an email from a listener, Matt White, who asked what we would recommend to make his 2013 Chevy Sonic LTZ (Holden Barina to us Australian's) more comfortable for his long commute.

We then talk about idiot drivers causing knee-jerk reaction laws, and why that's complete bollocks, and we talk about Kevin Hart being sued after a crash involving his resto-mod Barracuda, and shitty drivers in general.

Mitch then rants about Tracey Grimshaw and her shit television program A Current Affair, who had yet another piece of trash "news" about 'extreme car enthusiasts', and they partnered up with the New South Wales Police and their 'Operation Kilowatt' who were out and targeting people with illegal tint and low ride height.

We then end the episode by talking about how cars have advanced further than the average skill of most drivers, and how licenses haven't caught up with how powerful cars have become.

  • Kanye West Effect

We are back for episode 117, and this week it's a bit off the rails!

We start off briefly about talking about Joseph's written review of the Toyota Corolla Hybrid Ascent Sport

We then talk about drifting, before breaking into a bit of news (and a semi-rant from Mitch) regarding the new Land Rover Defender, after the lead engineer saying that it's "daft" for the Defender to have a manual.

Joseph has a bit of news about the Mitsubishi ASX getting a Triton facelift and a 2.4L engine option, we then talk about CVT's for a bit.

Mitch then talks about the Tesla Vs. Porsche Nurburgring war.

Joseph talks about the car news rumour-mill saying that Toyota/Subaru might show a GT86 Second Generation at Tokyo Motor Show, and we theorise about the MR2.

Then we talk about tyres, and tyre technology, and how far even the Bob Jane Special's have come in recent years, and then we talk about whether 'Australian Made' is as important today as it has been in the past, and we talk about Chinese-made for a while.

We then finish off last week's questions we received on Facebook, and run out of time to play a game.

  • Pure Parts Bin Money Grab

We kick off episode 116 with talking about the 2020 Land Rover Defender.

Then, we talk about the next-gen Ford Focus ST's pricing, features, and engine specs, though we don't think the pricing reflects what you get.

We briefly then talk about Audi's new RS7, before getting onto some listener questions we got via Facebook!

We then continue onto the next round of Matt's garage game, with this week the budget is $20,000, and then we play 'What About This Car', and this week it's about the Mazda 2, and Matt reckons the Mazda 2 would be a good contender to be the next 'Twin Cam'.

  • Weird Rich Uncle

We're back for episode 115! This week we pretty much kick straight off into a bit of news!

Mitch talks about the Lamborghini Sian, the most powerful road-going Lamborghini ever made... And, it's a V12 Hybrid (RIP Lambo).

Joseph then tangents onto talking about a YouTube channel 'Harry's Garage'.

Matt then quickly talks about a new game he's made up, and gives Joseph a few minutes to prepare while Mitch talks news.

Mitch then talks about Nissan's new Patrol being leaked to the press, and it looks bloody awful; somehow it's worse than the current Y62, and then Mitch talks about Mclaren issuing a recall on the 2019 Senna, before ending the news on Bugatti hitting 490Kph (300mph) with a modified Chiron.

We then argue about the Veyron and Chiron, and then talk about TJ Hunt Vs. Adam LZ.

Mitch then goes off to find cars for his $10k theoretical garage, while Matt and Joseph talk about motorsport news with CAMS scrapping Formula 4, Joseph talks about a new motorsport F-5000, and Matt talks about aero changes to the Holden Commodore Supercars to make them more competitive with the Mustang, and a Queensland Excel Cup racedriver being picked up to race for Red Bull in TCR, Team Vernon leaves TCR because they're sick of their Alfa Romeo always breaking down, and Mclaren having a whinge at Renault over engine issues in Formula 1.

We then play Matt's new game, and spoiler alert, Mitch fucks up massively.

  • Absolute Crank Pulley

We are back with episode 114! It's a pretty good one this week, not gonna lie.

We kick off with a bit of bollocks, before Mitch talks about how Tetsuya Tada (the bloke behind the GT86 and the Mk5 Supra [and mini-vans]) wants to partner with Porsche for the next-gen MR2 and to base it on the next-gen Cayman/Boxter chassis.

Joseph then talks about Toyota and Suzuki buying bits of each other, and how Mercedes is surprised that apparently nobody wants their X-Class and their decision to kill it off.

Mitch then talks about CAMS and Stadium Super Trucks getting over their differences, and Stadium Super Trucks will be returning as a supporting series with Supercars, starting with the Gold Coast 600 in October. We then talk about Supercars dropping Queensland Raceway and Philip Island from the 2020 roster.

Mitch talks about the disappointing new Land Rover Defender, and how it's not a bloody Defender.

Matt then talks about how the values of Alfa-Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio's are dropping hard and fast.

We then play a few rounds of 'Would You Rather', before we round off with an observation from Mitch about how the type of car you drive changes how you drive.

  • Can't Get It Up

We're back for episode 113! And we kick off straight away with a bit of Supra Mk5 news, specifically an American company developing a manual swap for the new Mk5

We then go on to compare Peugeot and Citroen with Bugatti, and why you'd never buy a new French car. We then talk about how the type of car a person drives is a perfect way to judge their drving ability.

Mitch then talks about the disaster that was the RM Sothebey's Monterey auction, especially with regards to the Porsche Type 64.

Matt then starts off on a game that we think is called 'Would You Rather', but we're not sure.

  • Chinese Hoover

We're back for episode 112! And this week we start off talking about Joseph's bits.

Then we finally crack into some actual content with Mitch talking about what he's done to his Hilux this week, and this week he installed an Android double-din in the Hilux. We then talk about what suspension Mitch wants to chuck on the 'Lux.

Joseph then brings up World Time Attack Challenge, and how good it's shaping up to be. Some truly impressive machines, including MCA's Hammerhead Silvia, will be ripping on the track.

Mitch then talks about the new limited edition Bugatti Centodieci, the 8-litre W16 quad-turbo 1,176Kw hypercar. All 10 $13million AUD examples have been sold, sorry chaps.

Matt then asks the panel what we think will be the new Hyundai Excel, in terms of its cult following and track day prowess, and then we not-so-gracefully career into Matt's game of Decades or Generations or whatever he wants to call it this week with a tangent from Matt about how comfortable - or uncomfortable - some new cars are.
