Geek Nerdery

In an episode that has weirdly become relevant since we recorded it, we’re looking at 2 Mark Hamill sci-fi movies. First up we do some time traveling in TIME RUNNER. Then we ride the airways along with Bill Paxton in SLIPSTREAM. We also chat about more wrestling, Cyberpunk 2077, and end the episode with another Mandalorian review.

This week we discover that our show needs a LOT more animatronic killer animals.

This episode we’re taking a look at two action films from the 80s that promise big action and adventures. First up Carl Weathers gets jacked in ACTION JACKSON. Then with some racist stereotypes Fred Ward fights evil in REMO WILLIAMS THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES. We also talk about the newest projects Disney has announced for Marvel and Star Wars, The Last Dance, and we end the episode with another spoilery Mandalorian review.

This week it’s gymnastics time! Both films deal with gymnasts using their gymnastics and fighting skills to avenge their fallen father. First up IT’s TIME TO PLAY THE GAME in GYMKATA. After that Gene Simmons makes us very uncomfortable in NEVER TOO YOUNG TO DIE. We also get sidetracked to talk about wrestling, chat about the Warner Bros decision to drop all their movies onto HBOMAX, and we end the show talking about the latest episode (as of when we recorded) of THE MANDALORIAN.

This week we learn that the smartest mammal on earth is actually the killer whale…along with a whole lot of other interesting whale factoids.

Come join Scott, Eric, and Bryan for the first episode of the new Basement Moviecast. Each week we dig up some of the best cult classics, fan favorites, or “so bad it’s good” films that the horror and sci-fi genres have to offer, turn on the mics, and see where the conversation takes us.

It’s Peter Jackson week! First up we run around the New Zealand countryside in BAD TASTE. Then we’re hunting ghosts with Michael J. Fox in THE FRIGHTENERS. Also we welcome back Noah who updates us on what it’s like to have Covid, talk about The Crow, and chat about the UNFRIENDED franchise.

It’s pledge week around Midnight Drive-In. First we try to hide a body in THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW. Then we lose our damn minds in THE SORORITY HOUSE MASSACRE. After that we chat about Possessor, The New Mutants, and Hello Mary Lou Prom Night II.

Noah is off on a honeymoon so we bring in a surprise special guest to fill in for him. First up we watch Kurt Russell smash snakes with a boot in SOLDIER. Then things get all Hellraisery in EVENT HORIZON. After that we chat about the CHILD’S PLAY remake, SCHIZOID, and RELIC.

It’s episode 150! We have our first ever Triple Feature and they are all Number 3s! First we torture Doug by watching HALLOWEEN III. Then we open the puzzle box with HELLRAISER 3. Finally things get 3D with FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3. We also discuss the timeline of the Friday films, get bored with HELL NIGHT, and do a spoilery discussion about THE MANDOLORIAN at the end of the episode.
