Geek Nerdery

This week we celebrate the pulp heros of yesteryear . . . and one newish one. First up is the Sam Raimi directed, Liam Neeson Starring, and Bruce Campbell cameoing Darkman! After that we get cartoony with the Warren Beatty led Dick Tracy. After that we talk about Abducted In Plain Sight, The Umbrella Academy, and Wind Chill.

This week join Scott, Wes, and Noah? That’s right. We have a special guest joining us this week to discuss one of his childhood favorites for the SEGA Master System, Kenseiden.

The much hyped episode has dropped! We see old rivalries die and new potential ones form. We’re still adjusting to actually seeing the standard Challenge format of challenge, nominations, elimination with a little drama thrown in. Wes shows himself to be a master of Challenge politics with his new alliances and the benefits they give him. And as we all know, a Challenge legend is sent home!

This week we’re taking a look at the work of Noah’s first love . . . Reb Brown. First up is his Rambo II inspired rip off Strike Commando. After that he plays a chilled out Steve Rogers who dons the red, white, and blue in Captain America. We also talk about Liam Neeson’s current state of mind, Shakma, and the importance of Mr. Rogers.

We recap our visit to Challenge Mania and went over our stories of meeting Challenge “celebrities”, but more importantly meeting other Challenge fans and listeners of Challenged. We rehash this episode including goodies like what a jerk Zach is, an old rivalry that comes to a head, and night full of drama. We’re all excited to finally get back to the standard format of challenge, drama, nominations and eliminations.

This week we honor the late great Dick Miller by talking about two of our favorite movies he was in. First up we watch him try to save the opening day of his riverside resort in Piranha. Then we celebrate the holidays with the Futtermans in Gremlins. We also talk about Horror Noire, Abducted In Plain Sight, if David Schwimmer has a weak chin, and at the end of the episode Bryan and Doug have a spoilery chat about Glass.

Get ready for a triple threat of T-U-R-T-L-E Power as we discuss three of the classic Konami TMNT beat-em ups, TMNT the Arcade Game, TMNT: Turtles in Time, and TMNT: The Hyperstone Heist.

We’re so excited to be back and we’re ready for Season 33! We have our first challenge of the season, a purge, and the standard craziness that comes with the Challengers arriving at their new house. We don’t learn much about the format of this season yet, but at least we get the pairings and some potential hookups.

Look for us in Chicago this weekend for ChallengeMania! Say hello… OR ELSE.

We’re back! After a week off we come back with a couple of Hammer films. First up Oliver Reed plays a rich douche who is set to inherit a lot of money until his long thought dead brother returns in Paranoiac. Then we delve into what drives this woman insane in Nightmare. After that we talk some about Glass, Ted Bundy, Spider-Man Into The Spiderverse, and Watchmen.

Hey, we’re back for more! Did you miss us? We’re back from our hiatus and ready to talk about Season 33, War of the World, the cast, and predictions on format, speculating who wins and what potential alliances will form between the vets and the newbies. We’re glad to be back and ready to talk Challenge with everyone again.
