  • Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase 2
    Iron Man launched Phase One of Marvel's Cinematic Universe. After 2012's The Avengers we were left wondering where the House of Ideas would take us next. Luckily Kevin Feige and his crew have an idea. In this episode of Geek This! Podcast, I sit down with my pal David Hunt to discuss what Phase Two has to offer, speculate what the concept art could mean for some of the films, and sneak some talk about The Wolverine.

    From this episode:

    * Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase Two Preview (Video)

    * Iron Man 3 Trailer

    * Official Iron Man 3 video page on Marvel

    * Iron Man: Under the Armor with Kevin Feige

    * Iron Man: Under the Armor with Guy Pearce

    * Iron Man: Under the Armor with Rebecca Hall

    * Marvel Phase Two Footage & Concept Art (TotalFilm.com)

    * The Wolverine Trailer

    What are you looking forward to the most from Marvel's Phase Two?

  • Injustice: Gods Among Us
    Today DC Comics and WB Games released Injustice: Gods Among Us for iOS. I just happened to see it in the App Store this afternoon for free and decided to pick it up. Just a few minutes after playing it I knew I had to review this for you all in a special podcast episode.

    Here's what MTV Geek had to say about it:

    Developed by the same team responsible for "Batman: Arkham City Lockdown," Injustice for iOS functions as a standalone game, but features crossover elements to enhance the console version as well. For instance, if you sign up for a WBID account (something you'll also want for "Infinite Crisis") you'll be able unlock cross-platform rewards including skins and other perks.

    Unlike its console counterpart, Injustice on iOS features 3-on-3 tag team matches and NetherRealm has thankfully passed on the virtual joysticks. Instead, players will duke it out using swipe and tap gestures, such as holding two fingers on the screen to block.

    If micro-transaction were the first thing to pop into your head when you saw "free-to-play" you though right. Fortunately, NetherRealm insists that everything can be unlocked by simply playing the game and spending money will only speed things up.

    The official Injustice site gave this description for the game. Makes me want to buy a PS3 now...:

    What if our greatest heroes became our greatest threat? Injustice: Gods Among Us introduces a bold new franchise to the fighting game genre from NetherRealm Studios, creators of the definitive fighting game Mortal Kombat. Featuring DC Comics icons such Batman, Cyborg, The Flash, Harley Quinn, Nightwing, Solomon Grundy, Superman and Wonder Woman, the latest title from the award-winning studio presents a deep original story. Heroes and villains will engage in epic battles on a massive scale in a world where the line between good and evil has been blurred.

    Find out more at Injustice.com and pick up the iOS version for free on iPad or iPhone.

  • Back from the Dead
    AMC's The Walking Dead wrapped up this week, so I decided to give a brief overview of the season, share my opinions about the characters that I found interesting, and give my overall opinion of the most recent season. I also talk about an upcoming interview with writer Ben Avery, who hosts the Strangers and Aliens podcast, as well as an idea that I have that involves YOU!

    More from this episode:

    Cosplay Piano - The Walking Dead

    What were your thoughts of The Walking Dead? Would you participate in the new listener interaction segment?

  • Formats and Futures
    Considering I'm using a new app to record the podcast now, I decided to try it out in this episode, where I talk about some of the "behind-the-scenes" of Geek This! Podcast. I wrote a blog post on everything that I say in the show, so if you want to read it, it's the "Final Thoughts on Improvement" post from a few days ago. (Just in case you want to follow along).

    As always, leave your comments below or over on the Facebook page. You can even hit me up on Twitter if you'd like a more immediate response. I'm totally fine with that.

    Oh! And one more thing: I'm organizing a monthly Google+ Hangout, so if you're interested, Circle Me over there so I can include you in any future announcements. For those of you I've talked to already, be on the look out for more info via G+
