The first thing I ask anyone that is looking for a new laptop is “What are you going to do with it?” This is important because a gamer doesn’t want a business laptop and an executive might not want a laptop geared toward video production. The HP Elite X2 is a Business laptop. Running documents, getting your books in order, and of course email and web functionality. With the Wacom stylus and military grade standard, it can handle the situation. So let’s go through the pros and cons, then we’ll look at the overall specs. PRO – HP Elite X2 The x2 is light weight and no bigger than a standard tablet. The precision-crafted device is meant for funcitonality and style. A high-level enterprise executive will definitely look good with this accessory. Inside is the Intel Core M processor series. From the m3 at 2.2 GHz with Turbo...

Home security is growing in the IoT space. You want to keep tabs on your home when you are away, then have anything bad get recorded for police, insurance, and maybe that occasional viral video. The Arlo Security Camera system from Netgear can help. Let’s go over the Pros and Cons, then I’ll give a more in-depth review after. This is a review of the Arlo Security 2 portable camera system with Arlo Q Plus indoor camera. PROs – Arlo Camera System The 2 camera side of this system is portable and weatherproof. The cameras can be set anywhere you choose indoors and out. With an additional magnetic base or ability to place on a tripod mount, you can get video from anywhere and have it sent back to the base-station via WiFi. Once joined to the base station, these cameras record only when motion is detected. The...

There are a lot of superhero movies coming out in the next 4 years. From the continuing Avengers, to the Justice League, sequels of hit movies like Deadpool, to even the Stan Lee Biopic! We look at the schedule to see what’s coming and when. I take a look at the Singlecue Gen 2: I got some more Patreons. You can be one too! Morning Geeks! As we get into the colder months, we make the plans to weatherize and even smart-plan our home. Maybe we got an IoT based thermometer. I just personally bought an Infra-red heat fireplace because this house doesn’t have a fireplace and I miss it. But as we try to keep our homes energy efficiant and warm, we still are looking for the advantage. Maybe the kids say their room is colder than yours at night. Without putting a thermostat in every room, we can only guess if that’s true. Now we can put a thermostat in every room to take the guess out. Last year the folks at Sense came out with the Sense ThermoPeanut. A Bluetooth enabled device that can be placed anywhere and bring back temperature data. SensePeanut data can be sent to any iOS or Android device to show you the temperature difference your home...

Daredevil 2 is in peril. Tim Miller left after differences with him and Ryan Renolds. But this might be the thing that can kick it into high gear. This week I talk about what happened, and throw out a few Directors that could possible replace Miller for a better sequel. Congrats to the Cubbies. Now they will have to wait until 2124 for the next championship. It’s Daylight savings time I look at the Google Pixel: My first two Patreons! The season premiere of Walking Dead brought a violent episode. More violent than any Game of Thrones, Dexter and most movies. Now the Parent’s Television Council has deemed it the most graphically violent show they’ve seen on TV. How will that shape the future of Walking Dead? Did this episode bring more viewers, or shy away fans? New items include New Glasses! If you are looking for a sub-$100 set of stereo speakers for gaming, movies, or music, the Rosewill SP-7260 speakers will fit the job. These 60 Watt speakers have a range of 60 Hz – 20 kHz to capture a full range of sound. I tested these speakers in multiple capacities – as the replacement speakers at the TV and in the studio for music and podcasting. My results were a decent 4 ohm speaker for your listening needs. One issue I found with the speaker was the “wood case”. Inside I saw press board, over an oak board they had in the graphic. While pressboard does also give a fuller sound over plastic casing, I was a little disappointing over this feature that Rosewill mentioned. Another issue was the 6 foot 4-pin cable used to patch speakers together. While it worked for me, if anyone needs something...

Going to Disneyland is an experience, so keeping the positive vibe is key. You will be taking lots of photos and video, along with running around the park all day. No placed to charge, no places to really relax for after the hour or more wait, you have a 10 minute ride and it’s off to the next attraction. Having some key tech gear to keep you going really helps. I brought a few items with me to Disneyland that kept me going all day. Here are what I recommend you should have. Tough Tested Rugged Weatherproof Charger With 8000 mAh inside, a fully charged Tough Tested USB charger is a great addition to your gear. It might be a little bulky, but it’s worth it’s weight at 10 AM when you need to charge your phone back up for the first time today. This device will charge...

With the iPhone 7’s loss of headphone jack, you might be looking at wireless headphones for your music or movie listening needs. While I was on travel last week, I checked out the Rowkin Bit Charge. This is a Bluetooth headset that will give you about 2 hours of music and recharge in an hour. I can even use this for phone calls and as a headset microphone. While the latency won’t let you create music in Garageband, it will let you listen to music and watch TV or movies without issue. Pairing the headset is easy and it can pair with multiple items. The headset also has a microphone, so it can be used to answer phone calls, talk to Siri, or even record on Facebook Live, YouTube, Periscope and more. I recorded a couple Instagram stories using the headset in a noisy environment and it sounded...
