  • Episode 47: The Geekdown Year in Review 2016
This year was the drizzling shits, no one can deny that. But it wasn't without some things that brought us joy, so Sunshine Bubbles and Scarlet Ember are looking back on the first year of the Geekdown to pick the top three things they were brought this year, the best thing they watched together and the single worst thing they were forced to sit through.
For all the ways 2016 was less than ideal, it's also the year we started this show, and we're continually humbled and grateful for all of you who listen to us natter on. Here's to the new year.

  • Episode 45: Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang and Tokyo Godfathers
Even though they already have a holiday episode in the can locked and loaded for next week, Sunshine Bubbles and Scarlet Ember can't resist the urge to get festive, spending some time with a pair of films set during the holidays, the LA neo-noir 'Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang' and anime master Satoshi Kon's tiny fable 'Tokyo Godfathers.' Were they enough to get us into the spirit? Answers inside.
Also this episode! Cait breaks a promise, Spider-Man comes home, silly people pick a fight with Star Wars, Chocobos are closer than ever and Viktor Nikiforov stops being a fuckboy.

  • Episode 44: Stretch & Bobbito and Little Women
The Christmas break is rapidly approaching and your new BFFs are increasingly ready for it, which is probably why this episode is all over the place. We kept it on the rails long enough to talk about the 2015 documentary Stretch and Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives and 1994's adaptation of Little Women, though. How was that? Answers inside.
Also this ep! Notes from the recent Playstation event, Caitlin avoids the Guardians trailer, Sense8 returns, Your Name demolishes everything in its past, discussing the creeping gentrification in Jordan's neighbourhood and sooooo much more.

  • Episode 43: The Corpse Bride and Lucha Underground
Everytime we think we've topped ourselves on mismatched things to talk about, we surpass our expectations, looking at Tim Burton's 2005 return to stop-motion animation, The Corpse Bride, and Lucha Underground, the telenovela-meets-pro wrestling spectacle from filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and 'Survivor'-producer Mark Burnett. You think you know how that went, the answers will likely surprise you.
Also this week! Michelle Yeoh makes everything better, The Walking Dead looks a little more dead-like, Marvel continues to shine on diversity, updates to what we're watching and soooo much moooore.
Thanks for listening every week, friends!

  • Episode 42: Macross Plus and The Crown
Continuing the Geekdown tradition of picking two things that could not be further apart, this week we look at the 1994 anime classic Macross Plus and the 2016 Netflix royal drama The Crown. Fighter planes that turn into robots, virtual idols, the crushing weight of duty and Matt Smith's butt. What else do you need?
Also this week! Lots of things Caitlin didn't know were things, Hayao Miyazaki isn't retiring (again), comic artists take principled stands on post-Trump America, updates on what else we've been watching (Yuri on Ice. Mostly Yuri on Ice) and so much more.
    Thanks for listening, friends!

  • Episode 40! Izetta and Downtown

On Ice, the the alternate Earth WW2 magic mashup Izetta The Last Witch and Cait unearths a forgotten animated relic of the last century, MTV's Downtown. How'd this week's offerings fare? • Episode 39: Moonlight and Atlanta
Just when we think we couldn't find two more disparate items to talk about in a single episode, we keep surprising ourselves.
This week Caitlin keeps with the season bringing in the spoooooky paranormal romance detective drama "Moonlight" and Jordan finally lets Cait dig into the toast of the Fall 2016 television season, Donald Glover's "Atlanta." Was Jordan miserable? Did Caitlin join the chorus of critical praise? Answers await.
Also this ep, Jordan's Beatles return to the musical landscape, we #standwithChelseaCain, voice actors fight for better compensation, as well as the return of a fan-faourite segment and updates to other things we're watching (Black Mirror. It's mainly Black Mirror).

  • Episode 38: Practical Magic and Kids on the Slope
Sometimes, we like to each give things we know the other isn't going to like just to watch hilarity ensue. That can be the only reason why Caitlin would bring the 1998 trifle Practical Magic and Jordan the admirable but booooooring 60s jazz-romance Kids on the Slope. Did they find any point of entry to them? Answers await.
Also this ep! Drawing teenagers is hard, Logan is old, Red Dead enchants, we remember Steve Dillon and much more.
