There’s something so special about songs that are released as a live performance, they make you feel you’re actually at this venue, at this very moment. Specially when it comes to worship songs (and this is something Hillsong has mastered since day on), they make give you goosebumps, and it’s beyond magical. 

 

Hillsong shares the most important message ever in a very simple way, with really strong melodies and musical elements. This combination has a very powerful result. Let’s talk about it, shall we?

On our eigth episode of Season 2, Maria talks about the movie everyone’s been waiting for this winter… The perfect movie to watch with your family and sing along… Yes, the movie that is perfect in almost every way… Of course we’re talking about Mary Poppins Returns. 

This #FilmFriday episode, actually the last Film Friday of 2018 is all about the new sequel for Mary Poppins. The movie stars Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Dick Van Dyke, Angela Lansbury, Meryl Streep, Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer, Colin Firth, Julie Walter, and the cast goes on!

 

Look at this, isn’t this beyond amazing? Well, it gets better! The music was composed by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and it is absolutely wonderful! Also, the director is no other than Rob Marshall. 

 

This film is very heartwarming in every way, let’s chat about it!

On our fifth episode of Season 2, Maria talks about Miley Cyrus’ new single with Mark Ronson, featuring Sean Ono Lennon. John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s son teamed up with Miley and Mark to bring back one of his parents’ amazing hits, (Happy Xmas) War is Over. The original Holiday tune came out in 1971, and now, these wonderful artist felt it was time to bring it back. Oh wow, SPOILER ALERT, they were right. 

 

The single’s powerful lyrics and melodies carry this phenomenal and timeless tune. However, it feels a bit different than the original, and that’s because of Mark Ronson’s tricks as producer. 

 

Let’s chat about the wonderful twists they did on this classic, and what they chose to keep like the original!

On our fourth episode of Season 2, Maria talks about one of the biggest movies of 2018, Fantastic Beats: The Crimes of Grindelwald. The movie set in the Wizarding World stars Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterson, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Zoe Kravitz, Ezra Miller, and of course cinema royalty, Jude Law as Young Dumbledore, and Johnny Deep as dark wizard Grindelwald. The second film in a five part story brings back our lovely characters from the first one, while introducing new faces that fit right perfectly in the story.  

 

There’s so much to talk about and digest with this movie, plus a bunch of fan theories. However, these won’t be part of this review, since this is Geeking Out Loud’s NON-SPOILER REVIEW for Fanastic Beast: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

On today’s episode, our second episode of Season 2, we will be talking about the trailer that came out today for Avengers: Endgame! 

That’s right, the first trailer for the film that will end the MCU as we currently know it has landed. The two minutes and thirty five seconds (2m35s) trailer shows our beloved surviving heroes Tony Stark as Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Steve Rogers as Captain America (Chris Evans), Natalia Romanova as Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Bruce Banner as Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and some surprising faces. The film will hit theaters April 26th, 2019.
