Welcome to another episode of GEEKS CORNER! This week comes as the Lunar New Year Celebration has started at Disney California Adventure and right before Disney100 kicks off at the Disneyland Resort. The Geeks talk about their favorite things at the Lunar New Year Celebration this year. The conversation then pivots to talking about the new nametags that cast members will get to wear starting on January 27, 2023 when the Disney100 celebration kicks off at the Disneyland Resort. Each of the Geeks share what character(s) they would pick for name tags, what would you pick? The episode then wraps up with a discussion about Tron. This includes the arrival of a new marquee sign for Tron: Lightcycle / Run and also a new Tron movie with Jared Leto in it. Share your thoughts and opinions about both in the comments! Welcome to a very full episode of GEEKS CORNER! This week the Geeks have a lot of ground to cover in what has been a very busy week for Disney and positive stuff in the news! To start off, Mr. Daps talks about attending The Walt Disney Legacy Award Celebration at the Disneyland Hotel and interviewing Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. The conversation then moves to the re-opening of sales of Magic Keys. Also at Disneyland, new signs for Mickey’s Toontown have arrived and French Market is becoming Tiana’s Palace. Up the road at Universal Studios Hollywood, Super Nintendo World was undergoing “technical rehearsals” and some of the Daps Magic team was able to experience them! Over in Florida, there are some updates to a long-term plan for Reedy Creek Improvement District. On Disney+, there is a new trailer for season 3 of The Mandalorian. This week was quite the week for The Walt Disney Company that involved quite a bit of change. This makes for a very exciting GEEKS CORNER! During the course of the episode, the Geeks talks about modified park hopping times at Disneyland Resort, new opportunity for Annual Passholders to enter Walt Disney World without reservations, the opening date for TRON Lightcycle / Run, Harmonious and Disney Enchantment departing along with the barges, the return of Earl of Sandwich to Downtown Disney District, AND also the new Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania trailer! Welcome to the first episode of 2023 of GEEKS CORNER! On this rainy night, the Geeks start things out by having a blast geeking out about the rain and how they enjoy it at Disneyland. Next, they talk about the return of runDisney to the Disneyland Resort for the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. Will you be running in any of the events that weekend? What events do you think the Geeks should participate in? In Disney California Adventure, the Carthay Circle Restaurant has unveiled its seasonal winter menu. The Geeks talk about their experiences at Carthay Circle Restaurant, their favorite foods there, and what looks good on the seasonal menu! Finally, this last week the Geeks drove to Palm Springs to experience the Palm Springs Air Museum and to see Walt Disney’s plane. Welcome to GEEKS CORNER! This is the last week of Geekmas, well before Geekmas!? I don’t know, we made the whole thing up anyway so it is what it is. Whatever it is, this is the week that leads up to Christmas/Geekmas and the week after the big Geekmas episode! As has been the trend throughout the entire month, there was a new ornament of the week to showcase this week. Then the Geeks got into geeking out about some fun topics. Things start off by talking about our experience at D23’s Light Up the Season even at the Walt Disney Studios Lot! Then they move to a discussion about The LA Schleppers Klezmer Band that played at Downtown Disney on the first night of Hanukkah. Courtesy is now a rule for guests at Walt Disney World Resort and the geeks chat about that. This leads to a spirited conversation about the new movie musical on Apple TV+, Spirited! Next, the Geeks wrap the show up by talking about the new Doctor Who and his companion’s new outfits.
