Episode 804 Highlights

Disneyland Resort: A Seven-Decade Vision

Mr. Daps shares insights from a recent four-and-a-half-hour meeting with Thomas Mazloum, President of the Disneyland Resort. The conversation focused on several key takeaways for the future of the park:

• Long-Term Strategy: Disney is shifting from decade-long planning to a massive 70-year vision for the resort.
• Back to Basics Hospitality: There is a renewed focus on interpersonal "magical moments" and streamlining the guest experience to make visits simpler and more accessible.+2
• Targeting Young Families: Upcoming entertainment, such as Bluey’s Best Day Ever at the Fantasyland Theater, signals a shift toward immersive, family-focused experiences over traditional passive stage shows.

Toy Story 5 Trailer Reactions

The team breaks down the newly released Toy Story 5 trailer. Key discussion points include:

• Screens vs. Tactile Play: The trailer explores the conflict between technology and traditional toys.
• Character Evolution: They discuss the noticeable aging in the voices of Woody and Jessie and how the franchise might handle the "mortality" of toys moving forward.

Olaf Heads to the Animation Academy

A new experience featuring an audio-animatronic Olaf is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to teach drawing classes. Mr. Daps and Caitie debate the merits of a digital instructor versus the "human connection" of live artists.

DCA Food & Wine Festival Preview

With the festival just around the corner, the hosts look at the new menu highlights:

• Top Picks: Caitie is ready for the return of the Musubi Fried Rice, while both are intrigued by the experimental Ramen Mac and Cheese.+2

Comments, Comments!

The show wraps up with a community discussion on the "scariest" attractions in Fantasyland following recent changes to Snow White’s Enchanted Wish. The consensus? Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride and Pinocchio’s Daring Journey remain the champions of "ooky spooky" vibes.
