Geeks Unleashed

This week we cover lots of comic news; including a Power Rangers relaunch with Mighty Morphin #1, re-release of full color issues for The Walking Dead, and a brand new comic from Boom! Studios and Keanu Reaves. As for reviews, we're tackling Cursed (a Netflix original series), and TNT's Snowpiercer series now that the first season has wrapped up. Recommendations this week are the March graphic novel series from Congressman and civil rights activist John Lewis (who passed away this week), and Empyre #1 from Marvel.

We start off this episode with more DCEU news -- Javicia Leslie has been announced as the new Batwoman for the CW and HBO Max will have a Gotham PD series spin off from the Robert Pattinson led Batman film. In Marvel comic news, there's another massive event coming our way in December as Knull heads to Earth. We also gush about how much we've enjoyed Japan Sinks and The Old Guard which were new Netflix originals. Give us a listen and let us know what you think!

Big DCEU news this week with allegations against Joss Whedon's behavior on the set of Justice League. Stargirl was renewed for a second season on the CW, and Marvel has bought up the rights to Alien and Predator imprints from Dark Horse Comics. We also talk about how much we loved Robert Kirkman's new title, Fire Power, as well as delve into the world of the rebooted Perry Mason limited series on HBO.

We got a little carried away this week, so this one runs a tad long! Catch up with what we're watching (Coronavirus numbers go up) before we get to quite a bit of news and then two major summer even kick off series': DC Death Metal #1, Marvel's Road to Empyre and Empyre Avengers #0. Join us!

Welcome back! In this episode we discuss Michael Keaton's potential return to the DCEU in Flashpoint, send our condolences to director Joel Schumacher's family, get excited about Netflix picking up Cobra Kai, and talk about the 10 of swords X-Men cross over event as well as Image's one shot Negan Lives comic. As promised from episode 1, we also gush about our favorite trailers and other thoughts from the PS5 event as well as review last week's recommended read, Far Sector from DC's Animal Imprint. We've been on a break, but we're back and ready to geek out! In this first episode, we talk about what has kept us entertained during COVID-19 lockdown, chat about the ridiculousness of Space Force, laugh about the Joker's 80th Anniversary issue, and share some nerdy reads from Black authors.
