Originally from Kentucky, Caroline’s path to hat-making took her all over the world - from Charleston, to Mexico, to her mom’s basement, where she taught herself how to make hats by hand. Now she’s based in Denver, the city her brick & mortar hat business really took shape and Gem Hats was born. We chat about her love for travel, the unique customer experience she’s created, and what makes Gem so special. Caroline shares how her many lives (from tech to fashion to nonprofit work) have all led her to where she is today, and gives advice to anyone trying to follow their passions and make careers out of side hustles.
