O Niccolo
If you could sum up Gemini in three words, what would they be?
Can't be done...words cannot express the scope and magnetude of this excellent piece of Historical Fiction.
Having anxiously waited for what seems to be forever, finally more of the House of Niccolo!
Audible, please make the Spring of th Ram (Book 2) and Scales of Gold (Book 4) available as quickly as possible! These books should be savored in the order they were written and as I have read them in the "old-fashioned" way atleast once a year since they were originally released in print.
It is so wonderful to have the books currently available read by such an accomplished narrator. Beautiful inflexion; realistic and measured pace just as I would have imagined Ms. Dunnett to have meant.
So very pleased!! I will keep these books in "My Library" for always!
Unforgettable!
I finished listening to this last book a few weeks ago and now realise that to listen, aided by an excellent narrator, is an amazing experience; I had thought I had 'read' the books but know now what I had missed!
Reading this series one book after the other takes over everything else and leaves you absolutely bereft. They are all wonderful.
If only The Lymond Chronicles had a narrator as fitting as the ones provided for this series I would buy them immediately.
Climax to wonderful series
Long, dense and intelligent historical fiction. The final book in an eight volume series this is not a stand-alone book. The reader needs to have watched the character of the protagonist grow and development over the earlier books to appreciate the depth and complexity of this one.
A wonderful conclusion to an epic tale.
If you could sum up Gemini in three words, what would they be?
entertaining, informative delightful
What was one of the most memorable moments of Gemini?
the birth of Jordan
What about Geoff Anniss performance did you like?
Geoff Annis flows seamlessly from character to character and his various Scots accents when used are accurate. Moving between male and female one forgets that this is one reader and this is a very skillful performance.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I am loath to make any comment here as I may spoil the book for others.
Any additional comments?
I have been moved to comment for the first time in the defence of the narrator as I have seen negative comments by someone who is not familiar with Scots accents and found them "silly"
