土耳其于当地时间6日凌晨发生百年来首次7.8浅层强震，重创土耳其和邻国叙利亚。根据官方消息透露，土耳其目前死亡人数至少有2379人，约1万4483人在地震中受伤，而叙利亚方面至少有1444人死亡、约3500人受伤。土耳其正处于攝氏零度，气候不定的天气中，这也使灾情雪上加霜。受难者不但在恐慌中四处逃命，还要面对輸電線和天然氣管線毀損导致的供电供暖困难。目前土耳其当局已派出救难队和运输机赴灾区，并請求國際伸出援手。

Forced labour is a massive problem in Malaysia. We’re talking about horrible wages, deplorable working and living conditions – in essence, modern day slavery. But what can we do about it? Recently, Lee Hwok-Aun of ISEAS and Adrian Pereira of the North-South Initiative, wrote a paper for ISEAS Yusof Ishak Institute titled Can Malaysia Eliminate Forced Labour by 2030? We unpack this paper with the authors.

Article 8 of the Federal Constitution covers the principle of equality and non-discrimination in Malaysia, but to what extent does this apply to the rights of persons with disabilities? In fact, activists and advocates have long called for legal reforms to both the constitution and the Persons with Disabilities Act 2008, to better uphold and protect the rights of persons with disabilities.
