After so many high profile data breaches in the region, surely organisations realise the critical importance of data protection, right? Apparently not. According to studies, the fundamental discipline of protecting, storing, identifying and provisioning the organisation’s data remains not only haphazard for many organisations, but is a complex, inefficient and expensive chore. We speak with the Head of ASEAN at Cohesity, Sheena Chin, about the limitations and challenges of legacy data management solutions and how next-gen data management is needed to ensure organisations have modern and robust management of their data.
In a recent article, it was mentioned that some 70-90 billion worth of assets, mostly owned by Malays, are unclaimed as of 2020. The article also stated that these assets were frozen and could not be disbursed immediately as their owners died without making wills or any proper inheritance plans.
