I want to share something with you today, like a mantra or prayer.
Are you ready?
I receive all these great gifts, the co-create to manifest, to have choices, to have freedom, I choose to raise my vibration, and I choose to raise the vibration of others around me. I let joy and peace and meaningful conversations lead my life today. I choose to be kind and loving in my relationships.
So on today's episode, I want to talk about generational trauma. Now, if you Google this you will find that there are there's not a lot of scientific data out there around it. But I know I have seen this play out, not just in my own lives, but in the lives of other people. That you know their dad a certain way or their moms a certain way and their grandma. There's a certain way you know their uncles a certain way.
And I believe that we carry that stuff with us, whatever it is. And you know, if I think back to even to my great grandmother. I can pinpoint that fear and anxiety and worry and controlling things goes back to her. It starts with being a little kid and not feeling safe or not feeling loved or not feeling worthy. And you know, tough talk like I raised two kids, and I know they struggle with some of those things.
It's generational, like I learned that behavior from someone else and they learned it from me, and so the reason why I wanted to talk about it today is because you know, they say the first step to overcoming something right is recognizing that there is something to overcome so.
I've been having a lot of conversations with my kids about this because I'm like, you know, this is our opportunity to break this cycle so that going forward, you know your kids, your kids as kids, whatever, will not carry the same stuff that you've been carrying that I've been carrying.
So I just think it's really important that we look at that and we figure out what those behaviors are that we're carrying with us, and make a conscious decision to work towards changing that.
So if you're listening and that resonates with you. I just want you to say to yourself that's not me anymore, and that's not going to be for my kids and my kids as kids. We're going to change the music on that. We're going to change the tune. We're going to do it different because we know, right and I love love, love that saying too where like you can't UN know something like once you learn you can't you can't turn away from. It if you know, it's like oh no, I know that and I have to work on it and it's going to be hard. But you know it's going to be OK, and there's lots of people that can support you on that journey. I'm one of those people I know lots of other awesome coaches that do this work. And you know, surround yourself with good people. In your family and family does not mean blood, we all know that family can be you know people that have just been with you forever. You know friends that are family, that kind of stuff. But get yourself a good support group support circle you know and commit to working through that stuff not just for yourself and not just for your parents and grandparents but for future generations.
