About Craig Spencer: Craig is very blessed to be an apprentice of Jesus and is ardently seeking to follow him more closely each day. Craig's background is in finance & accounting, having begun his career in public accounting and then working with public and private companies in various leadership capacities. Craig shifted to working in the nonprofit space in 2011, where he's had the opportunity to use the skills developed in the corporate world to make an impact in communities across Colorado. About Carl Fochler: Carl Fochler, Founder and Managing Partner of Queen City Land, founded the company in 2011, where he determines the goals and overall vision of Queen City Land. Carl’s career in real estate started in 1989 after he graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor's in Science Business Administration with a focus on Marketing. He moved to Charlotte and began working for Ryan Homes in 1990. During his 7-year tenure with Ryan Homes, Carl consistently ranked in the top 1% companywide in sales. In addition to the busy schedule, they remain very active in their church, and Carl is on the board of “A Better World,” an organization founded to uplift underserved youth in Charlotte.

Program - A Better World was founded in 2001 by Pastor Ken Gilliard and Forest Hill Church, who identified the need for a positive, educational, after-school program in West Charlotte. When A Better World began, it served eight students two days a week. Thanks to the tireless work of Pastor Ken and his team, the program now serves approximately seventy students five days a week. The kids who stick with A Better World are, at the very least, guaranteed a positive experience and quite possibly one that will change their lives.

Each day, our students receive a hot meal, homework support, and small group instruction from teachers who are committed to their well-being. Twice a week, students participate in group therapy sessions with licensed instructors and engage in literacy lessons via i-Ready, an evidence-based education tool.  Every week, A Better World’s students partake in expansive extracurricular activities, and their parents gain access to our community pantry, where those in need receive a 7-day supply of groceries. Parents are also invited to attend our community workshops, where they learn how to best support their children’s success in the classroom and at home.

About Sam Schmidt: Sam Schmidt was born in Lincoln, NE, and moved to CA as a toddler. He attended Pepperdine University, receiving a BS in Business Administration in 1986 and an MBA in International Finance in 1987.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Sam developed an unmeasured interest in motorsports. His goal was to race in the Indianapolis 500.

In 1997, he made his 1st IndyCar start. He raced in 3 consecutive Indy 500s and netted his 1st victory from the pole at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 1999, finishing the year 5th in series points. During testing in preparation for the 2000 season, Sam suffered a crash on January 6, 2000, which rendered him a quadriplegic. Though no longer able to drive a racecar, Sam was still passionate about the sport. Inspired by meeting paraplegic F1 team owner Sir Frank Williams, he founded Sam Schmidt Motorsports, now the most successful team in the history of the Firestone Indy Lights Series. At the end of 2024, Sam sold the IndyCar team to the McLaren F1 organization so that he could focus on the foundation.

After his accident, Sam and a few close friends founded the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation, which was rebranded Conquer Paralysis Now (CPN) in 2015. The Foundation has funded research on a global level, providing grants to organizations benefiting the disabled and providing opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

CPN has embarked on a major initiative to spark collaboration among researchers on an international level to find cures and treatments for paralysis. In 2018, the DRIVEN Neuro Recovery Center was opened in downtown Las Vegas as a program of CPN. The facility provides activity-based therapy, an open gym, and many programs for anyone with a neurological disorder. In 2024, CPN opened a flagship 114K sqft DRIVEN center in Carmel, IN, with hopes of creating more facilities around the country.

Sam lives in Henderson, NV, with his wife of 33 years, Sheila. Savannah is married and lives in Orange County, CA. Spencer is a racing professional and lives in Henderson, NV.

In the past, Bobby was involved on the Board of Directors for Buckhead Baseball (a non-profit where he also coached over twenty-two different baseball teams). His other activities include a stint as Director on the Ceramic Glass and Industry Board, the Lovett School Alumni Board, the Capital Group Board, and the Movie Guide Board.

He volunteered in various roles with Young Life, Young Life Africa Expeditions, Children’s Healthcare, and Radical Mentoring, as well as the Lovett Lionbackers (Athletics), where he also serves as the Co-Chair of the annual golf tournament. He lives in Atlanta, GA, and holds degrees from Vanderbilt University (BS) and Georgia Tech (MBA). Bobby is married to Liz, and they have three boys: Robert, Michael, & Charlie, and are members of Peachtree Presbyterian Church.
