When God remembered Noah, it was more than a mental recollection that Noah was there. God’s remembrance of Noah lead to His action of sending a wind to begin to dry the waters of the flood from off the earth. As the waters subsided and the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat, Noah used birds to discern what land was habitable. When the dove did not return after the second time, Noah uncovered the ark and saw dry ground. At God’s command, Noah and all that were with him left the ark, entering forth into the LORD’s renewed creation. Rev. Jacob Dandy, pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Atchison, KS, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study Genesis 8:1-19. The first book of Moses sets the stage for God’s entire story of salvation. As we learn the beginning of the story, God prepares us to receive the fulfillment of the story: Jesus Christ, the Offspring of the woman who has crushed our enemy’s head. Sharper Iron, hosted by Rev. Timothy Appel, looks at the text of Holy Scripture both in its broad context and its narrow detail, all for the sake of proclaiming Christ crucified and risen for sinners. Two pastors engage with God's Word to sharpen not only their own faith and knowledge, but the faith and knowledge of all who listen. Submit comments or questions to:
