Sarah Dompier, Resident Director of Young East Hall at Geneva College, talks about standing up for what you believe in. She talks about the Word of God and the passion that we should all have for it.

Dr. John Guest, senior pastor at Christ Church at Grove Farm, addresses the crowd about the Kingdom of God. He came to Pittsburgh because of a vision of brining the Kingdom of God to this area. He shares his story of hearing about the love of Christ, accepting him into his heart, and how his life changed because of what Christ has done in his life.

Dr. Adel Aiken, winner of the 2008 Excellence in Teaching Award, delivers this years academic convocation message. She begins by asking if those listening have list something. She is referring to the joy and wonder of a child. She challenges the audience to combine the wisdom of an adult with the heart of a child, filled with joy and wonder. The winners of the 2009 Excellence in Scholarhsip Award and Excellence in Teaching Award are Dr. Bob Frazier and Dr. Jeff Cole respectfully.

This year’s Chapel theme is “The Jesus Way,” based on the book by Eugene Peterson. How do we move from merely having a religion to being on a journey with Jesus? By responding to Jesus’ invitation.

James Fabrizio, a senior Student Ministries major from Geneva College, shares his testimony. He tells about the pain he grew up with because of the death of his brother, the divorce of his parents and ending up in the occult. But God got ahold of his life and he is living for Him now.

Keith Massey, a junior Christian Ministries major from Geneva College, gives his testimony of a broken spirit and how having a relationship with God has changed his life.

Geneva College student Theodore Northrop speaks about how great God is but how we often take Him for granted because we are selfish. We were put on this earth to serve Him, not for Him to serve us. It is not self-perfection but self-perspection. We need to put ourselves in perspective of God and His kingdom and who He is.

Four Geneva College students share about their experiences as missionary kids, study abroad students and participants of spring break missions trips. They share about the Ukraine, Scotland, Dearborne, MI and Guatamala.
