Season 1 of Genius Hack has sadly come to an end. But fear not!! Season 2 is only 2 weeks away, But to tide you over until then, we have prepared a 2 part special looking at the best of what season 1 had to offer. 

Earlier this week was the International day of Women and Girls in Science! And to mark that we decided to celebrate the amazing women who overcame the barriers before then to become trailblazers in their respective fields of study. 

In this episode, we take a dive into the world of Deep Fakes and look at the ways this strange, interesting and kind of scary new technology has been used and possibly will be used in the future.

In this episode, we speak to D William O'Connor, Associate Professor at UCD, about EIRSAT-1, Ireland's First ever Satellite. We learn what went into making this project happen as well as what research will be carried out by this amazing little satellite. 

In this episode we look at our relationship with mobile devices and ask the question, will we even still have smartphones in 10 years time, or are the materials they use going to run out before then.

In this weeks's episode of Genius Hack, we speak to Ireland's foremost Astronomer David Moore about Dark Matter, Dark energy and how our universe is constantly expanding. We also speak about an upcoming moon watch event for budding astronomers and enthusiasts alike.

In this episode we look at the contributions of Irish scientists to the greater science community. We also look at nanotechnology and specifically how it has been used to clean up a polluted waterway.
