Gennady Valyavin, astrophysicist, specialist in the study of magnetic fields of stars, extrasolar planets and astrospectroscopy. Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. Since 2021, Gennady has been the director of The Special Astrophysical Observatory of the Russian Academy of Science (SAO RAS). Author of 144 scientific papers. Gennady conducts teaching work: he carries out teaching activities in the implementation of programs for the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel in the graduate school of the SAO RAS, supervises term papers and theses of ITMO students.
