Have you ever gone back to a place that you struggled in the first time? Would you ever? Our guest today is my dear friend Miicher and she did just this. The first time we chatted was in December 2018 on Geopats Reflections. We were both living in Shanghai, China and if I am honest, we were both ready to leave. However, after returning to Florida, USA, she had a change of mind and went back to China this month. About 2 years ago Comedian Andy Curtain let us dig into his virtual past on Geopats Online (then called Virtual Expats). In that interview, we dug into how his online habits changed when he moved from Australia to Shanghai, China more than a decade before. And of course, since then he has moved again, down to Hong Kong specifically. It's so easy to drop all creative projects when relocating to a new place but Andy not only kept his creative juices flowing but he pivoted his podcast presence to reflect his new place and his more permanent role in the comedy community there.

When I first chatted with Antonella Moretti in Spring 2019, we both lived in China and had creative projects as long as could we. But 2020 being what it is and Antonella being as thoughtful and eloquent as she is, the intensity of this year has turned into a creative contemplation period. Although Aseloka Smith of the Colored Girl Beautiful podcast  was touched by the places in Latin America that she lived earlier in her life, it's her time travel  (via a very specific book) that's had more of an impact.  During this conversation, Aseloka and I dig into the emotional, racial and creative layers woven into her podcast. And there are many. We also tap into the practical side of creating a podcast because the fact that Aseloka did the Google Podcast Creators Program, a Master’s degree and worked a full time job while creating season 1 of TCGB is nothing less than amazing and I am pretty sure we can all learn from her.
