Soviet 588th Night Bomber Regiment, nicknamed the “Night Witches” by the Germans they targeted, who were the only all-female combat flying unit of World War II. These young women flew outdated biplanes with little protection or equipment, completing numerous missions nightly to disrupt German supply lines and positions by silently gliding in to drop bombs. Despite facing extreme danger and casualties, their courage and defiance allowed them to successfully execute thousands of missions and challenge conventional notions of women's capabilities in warfare.
