Hearing the podcast cachefrequenz I stumbled over the band "Bugsy Travels & The Ammo Boxes" and saw their nice video GC20. The lyrics of GC20 can be found at the bottom of this article, so scroll down and sing along. THANK YOU to the whole band for allowing me to spread their music on this podcast channel. interview on paravan.ch episode #120
https://podcast.paravan.ch/2020/09/120-geocaching-musik-und-geocaching-verpflegung
20 odd years ago
On May the 3rd, Dave Ulmer went and hid a cache
somewhere near Oregon.
The next day, Mike Teague was the First to find.
Within a week more people hid a stash,
using a GPS.
Mike Teague spread a Stash Hunt list
using the internet.
And the message sipping through his mails
read “Go search them all!”.
Steadily more people learned about this game
More and more tried to find some.
From their home to far beyond that’s where they would dwell
Each time they found one somewhere on their way
their caching hunger grew,
shifting the game into a higher gear
heading for a breakthrough!
And the message coming from all logs
Jeremy Irish and Elias Alvord
They saw the bigger plan,
Built a site to make the game a worldwide score.
It kept growing, it kept growing, it kept growing
to a global board.
And now the game has turned 20 years
and we still want more
cause the cachers coming from all sides
enjoy their search syndrome.
