On the border between Gabon and R Congo, the thick jungle gives way to sparser savanna dotted with pockets of forest. The sound of these habitats is more open and lush than what you would hear in primary or secondary rainforest. Longer version on Youtube at https://youtu.be/QPivYjhPxMQ

George where are you?

En route from Mekele to Erta Ale volcano we stopped at a roadside cafe. I managed to grab a few minutes of ambience while our coffee was being prepared. Wish I could have recorded the smell too. More sounds and stories at https://mindful-audio.com

Deep in the Amazon rainforest at night there's fog drip, soft wind and occasionally deadfall. The piercing chorus of insects is constant, multi-layered and continuously changing.
