Former NFL wide receiver Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson says he's ready to help out fans who have been in need of some extra cash to get through the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Tuesday, Johnson tweeted to his 3.2 million followers that he was "giving out stimulus checks July 1st" via the Cash app. Johnson wrote that he was prompted to take part in the charitable giving because "Trump want to keep playing games."

Attached to the tweet was an image that appeared to show $245,000 in an account that Johnson intends to make use of come July.  Johnson continued his criticism of Trump's response to the pandemic in a second tweet, arguing that the initial stimulus package that sent $1,200 to Americans back in April was not enough to sustain through a pandemic that has left a huge swath of citizens unemployed.

For the past 80 years, Social Security has been a financial rock for retired workers. Today, it's responsible for providing a benefit to almost 46 million retirees each month, with over 15 million of these seniors singlehandedly lifted out of poverty as a result of their payout. It's also a program that seniors have come to rely on -- perhaps a bit too much -- to make ends meet. According to national pollster Gallup, 89% of surveyed retirees rely on their Social Security income to some degree each month, with 58% leaning on their payout as a major source of income. This is what makes a worker's Social Security claiming age so important.

The U.S. is seeing a dangerous increase in coronavirus cases in the South and West.

As the nation pushes forward with re-opening, half of all states are now averaging more new cases each day than they have in weeks.

A fifth of new infections globally are in the U.S.

Florida and Texas are setting records for positive tests, and their governors are warning they may need to crack down on people who aren't social distancing.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis acknowledges that increased testing alone can't account for recent record numbers of new COVID-19 cases. He says he'll crack down on businesses that don't follow social distancing guidelines, but adds he won't change the state's reopening plan or enact a state-wide mandatory mask order.

With Florida topping 100,000 cases Monday, more younger people are testing positive. Doctors are sounding the alarm.

"When young people get infected, they go home and they infect their parents," said Dr. Charles Lockwood. "They will kill people by giving vulnerable people the virus."

Miami on Monday became the latest city to weigh in on the issue of masks. "We are going to be implementing a 'mask in public' rule. Everyone will have to wear a mask in public," Mayor Francis Suarez said.

The Mayan calendar came into existence in 1582 and before that various calendars were used. The two most popular calendars at that time were Maya and Julian. However, the Gregorian calendar is used all over the world today. According to experts, this calendar more accurately describes the time taken by the Earth to orbit the Sun, while the Julian and Maya calendars have flaws. Therefore, every year, 11 days went on decreasing. If we look at it accordingly, we are not in 2020 but in 2012. In 2012, the same argument was made when the prediction of the end of the world was proved wrong and it was said that June 21, 2020 would be the last day of the world, but this theory also proved to be wrong.

Because we don’t have enough going on in the world right now, a gargantuan plume of dust is currently making its way from the Sahara Desert to the United States. Meteorologists say the phenomenon is not particularly unusual, according to CNN, although it can certainly feel like another sign of the apocalypse in the year of locusts, coronavirus, and murder hornets.

According to the Weather Channel, the dust plume will make a 5,000-mile journey across the Atlantic before hitting the Gulf Coast and parts of the Deep South in the United States this week. The plume could bring a hazy quality to the sky in some areas, while the dust particles might affect people with allergies, but other than that, it’s not expected to be hugely disruptive. The most notable thing about the dust plume is what it looks like from space. Just ask NASA.

Stimulus check amount, deadline, requirements, payment timeline: Everything to know. A second round of $1,200 checks isn't the only proposal Washington is considering to get the US economy through a damaging recession. President Donald Trump raised the idea of a travel tax credit during a White House round-table discussion in May as a way to sow money back into the US economy during the coronavirus pandemic.

"Create an Explore America tax credit that Americans can use for domestic travel, including visits to restaurants," the president pitched during the meeting. "That's a big deal."

Building on the president's idea, the US Travel Association suggested a $4,000 temporary travel tax credit (PDF) that could cover anything from meals and lodging to gasoline while traveling in the US. It isn't clear if the travel credit would supplement or replace another direct payment to you, if it were to become part of the rescue package. Other proposals include incentives for businesses that might skip personal checks for individuals and families.  The stimulus checks Congress authorized in March are part of the much larger CARES Act that's injected money into small businesses and other concerns to help cushion against today's coronavirus recession. For individuals and families, the bill's allowance of up to $1,200 per person sounds simple, but it's anything but. It's easy to get tangled up in the details of which people qualify for a payment, when they'll get it and how much money they'll actually receive.

If you're still waiting for news about your stimulus check or looking ahead and wondering what Washington is doing about a second stimulus check for 2020 and how much could you get with another round, we can help you learn more about your payment.

According to reports, Walmart is now looking to remove all cashiers from its stores. The American multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, discount department stores, and grocery stores is now testing a self-checkout only structure in a move towards the future of the company.

Walmart will be removing the at one of its popular superstores in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The test will see if checkout times are reduced when human interaction is limited, employees will still be on hand to aid customers with issues checking out themselves. If the test generates positive results, Walmart could expand the program to more of its stores.
