EM Pulse Podcast™

Geriatric EM

Listen Later

It’s no secret that the U.S. population is aging. We are fully aware of this in the ED, where many of our sickest patients are older adults. But what many general EM providers don’t realize is just how different our elderly patients’ needs may be. In this episode, we talk with Geriatric Emergency Medicine specialist, Dr. Jennifer Kristjansson, about some health concerns that predominantly affect our geriatric patients. She highlights key areas we should we aware of and offers advice for optimizing ED care for older adults.
