Roscommon Town native Gerry Flanagan played football and hurling for Roscommon and for his club Roscommon Gaels and he moved to Meath many years ago.
He has written a book called 'Playing Against The Wind' about his life and experiences dealing with cancer over the years.
The proceeds from the book go to his cancer charity and he will launch the book in Roscommon town this Friday 2nd September.
He has been chatting to Seamus Duke about the book and the launch.
