During his research, he has held appointments at Ohio State, The Mayo Clinic, and several other prestigious universities. Dr. Tim Hewett has received several prestigious awards, including the NCAA, Excellence in Research and O’Donoghue Awards from the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Rose Excellence in Research Award from APTA, and a Young Investigator’s Award from the American Heart Association, and received the Clint Thompson Award for best paper from the National Athletic Trainers Association. His work has been cited in over 1000 lay press journals, including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Fox News, and CBS.
