Here is an important point in your IELTS prep that MOST people are skipping.

Often I hear students give me a lot of reasons about why they aren’t ready to start preparing for IELTS. I actually have a lot of followers that I think, know they need to prepare for IELTS, but aren’t actually doing it yet. It’s like they are pre-preparing, but with no goal in mind.  Let's dive into what's behind that today.

This has been a crazy year.  More anxiety than usual.  I can only imagine how I would feel if I had to prepare for an important exam that had the potential to change my life. For this reason, I wanted to talk about what you might be feeling right now in regards to your IELTS prep.

One of the most important things to understand about the IELTS speaking (and writing ) test, is that you are essentially being asking to give your opinion...but in an academic way.  Does this mean you can lie on the IELTS exam when giving your opinion? Short answer >> yes.  But, I believe there is a better way.   Listen to this week’s episode to get my best tips on this topic.

When it comes to getting a 7 band score in IELTS writing, most people think that just writing an essay is enough. But it’s much better if you develop it further by adding depth to your ideas. Showing relationships between ideas. Connecting ideas. One way you can do this is with cause and effect connectors.

I feel that every stage in life has a word that you can attach to it. So today, since I’m your host, I’m going to tell you one of my most important words and why it has been so important to me in my life.    I thought I’d share something about my life, so you know more about me.  And this week, there will DEFINITELY be some surprises!!!

What would you say is your biggest issue when it comes to writing your IELTS essay?  You might say it’s something like not having the right ideas, running out of time, or you just plain don’t know.  But I would argue it’s something else, and you may be surprised by what that is.

In English, we have a limited range of structures that we use in reference to sentence structure - not grammar.  These sentence structures are basically the only way you should be writing sentences in English and especially for the IELTS essay. In this week’s podcast episode, we are going to dive into one specific part of those structures, and I’m sure this is something that will immediately transform your writing.
