The concept of the Get-A-Life podcast, surprisingly, did not originate with former members, but with a controversial journalist from the backwoods of Ontario – James DiFiore – who became so intrigued by the malevolent and vindictive cultists behind the Klondike Papers scandal, that he dedicated a whole series of his Blackballed podcasts to interviewing the victims of the PBCC. His hard work, research and perseverance sparked the interest of the leading Canadian investigative podcaster Canadaland, leading to the Ratfucker podcast series that exposed Gerald Chipeur and Brad Mitchell to well deserved national public humiliation, and also inspired Carman, Cheryl, Lane and Richard to launch a new podcast channel dedicated to former member’s stories; Get-A-life Ex-cult Conversations. In this episode, we ask James what motivated him to target the PBCC, then we take a trip down memory lane, reviewing the remarkable series of interviews that Blackballed conducted – many of them shocking and tragic, some humorous and heartwarming and some just very bizarre…
