The Path We Choose

Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable (Bob Molle's Playbook) | EP02

Listen Later

Olympic silver medalist, two-time Grey Cup champion, and six-time Hall of Famer Bob Molle shares the unfiltered playbook behind resilience, relationships, and getting comfortable being uncomfortable.

Born into a competitive household in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan—one of four boys constantly wrestling, fighting, and competing—Bob learned early that life rewards those who refuse to settle. By age 21, he was ranked fifth in the world in wrestling.

Just 18 days before the 1984 Olympics, Bob underwent emergency back surgery. Most people would have given up. He didn’t.

He watched the opening ceremonies from a hospital bed, tears streaming down his face. Then a man named Gene Kinesky walked in and said: “Get up. Let’s go.”

What followed became one of the most remarkable comebacks in Canadian sports history. Bob went on to become the first Canadian wrestler to win an Olympic medal in over 75 years, later winning two Grey Cups, coaching a national championship team, and building a life defined by authentic relationships, relentless growth, and zero regrets.

Hosted by Umer Farooque, this episode dives deep into the mindset shifts, Eastern philosophies, and real-world lessons that shaped Bob’s extraordinary life.
