The twenty-second novel from Sunday Times number-one best-seller Martina Cole, author of Dangerous Lady, The Take, The Good Life, and many more....
Playing grown-ups, the future is theirs for the taking. Sharon Conway and Lenny Scott are childhood sweethearts. Everyone says they are too young, but nothing can keep them apart. Sharon doesn't question Lenny's business dealings, and it isn't long before his reputation as a hard man destined for the top means they are living the good life with their sons. It leaves a stain on her heart forever.
But one night Lenny doesn't come home. It isn't the first time he has gone AWOL. But it is his last. He is found murdered - beaten to death in an act of brutality that shocks even the police. And Sharon never knows why . Old wounds will surface.
Now, twenty years later, Sharon is about to find out the truth. Such a crime cannot go unpunished. Revenge is long overdue. The time has come to...Get Even.
Members Reviews:
Story lines getting thin
Although the book was read well , as a fan of Martina Cole , can't help feeling that her stories are becoming predictable and plots very thin
Another great book
What made the experience of listening to Get Even the most enjoyable?
The flow of the story line was on point. plausible plot and conclusion.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Get Even?
Working out Ray was the brokers killer.
What does Annie Aldington bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
Bringing the characters to life. Needs to work on the Jamaican accent though.
What a let down!
I have read all of MC books and waited with great expectation for the new release. What a let down, content was poor a lot of repetition, it never seemed to get going, the only shock was Lenny's death. I love Annie Aldington as a narrator but I felt she was just reading from the pages and was not into the story, it came across as boring and plain
Great book
enjoyed this. Martina Cole gets it right again. I enjoyed the Narrator. and listened to this almost in one go instead of a few chapters at a time
fantastic!
First time I've listened to a Martina Cole after having read many. really good and strangely involving like reading the page. Great story teller.
