She explains that feelings are real but shouldn’t be treated as ultimate truth, using practical examples like financial loss, emotional overwhelm, and a child’s tantrum to illustrate how we often want God to answer according to our own plans. She shares vulnerable stories from her own life, including the pain of a broken first marriage, the death of her son Jacob, and the long process of learning to trust God in seasons where nothing made sense. Through it all, she emphasizes that God is not distant or angry, but compassionate, faithful, and present in every dark place. The episode closes with a call to bring disappointment honestly to God, seek the truth beneath the emotion, lean on community, and hold on to the belief that God can still turn even the hardest things for good.

***Edit*** I mentioned a verse in n Proverbs that talks about a man who fears God will avoid all extremes, but that is in Ecclesiastes 7:18, not Proverbs!
