I interview nutrition expert and entrepreneur Donald Gerhardt. He is the founder of the Sann-Kalla nutrition brand.

In 2016, Donald Gerhardt's life was changed forever. He went to the emergency room with a life threatening illness, and he went into a coma for 11 days. After another 30 days in the hospital, Donald was finally discharged. Donald was told that his condition could not be “cured” by the medical community. The only thing he could do to fight this illness was to strengthen his own body to fight off the illness. Donald decided to make it his mission to learn everything he could about nutrition, the immune system, and staying healthy. Donald also wanted to help other people become stronger and healthier. 

During the next year, Donald read thousands of scientific research papers about health and wellness. He discovered that our food today doesn’t have all of the vitamins and minerals that our body needs. The only way that he could get everything his body needed to stay strong and healthy was to take lots of different pills and supplements. Donald figured that there had to be a better way. 

After years of research, and experimentation, Donald invented Omnia. It is nutritional powder that contains all the vitamins and minerals and super foods, that a person needs to enjoy good health. 

I wanted to interview Donald because he has an incredible story of resilience and grit. If this life threatening illness would have happened to most anyone else, they would have just done their best to stay alive. With Donald, he did something about it to fight back. In the process, he had to learn about nutritional science, and then deal with investors and venture capitalists to raise the money necessary to bring his idea to market. Now he is marketing his business and growing by leaps and bounds. 

In this interview, Josh Neer tells his story. At a young age, Josh became one of the pioneers of MMA in Iowa. Back when MMA was just starting to become popular, Josh competed in amateur fights that were put on at a famous bar in Des Moines called Toad Holler. Josh did really well on the amateur fight circuit, and he earned a record of 89-1.

Josh went on to compete in the UFC and became one of its most popular fighters. He earned the Fight of the Night award on three separate occasions. Josh also fought some of the UFC’s biggest names including both Nate and Nick Diaz.

Now, Josh is the head coach at Elite Edge MMA, one of the biggest MMA gyms in the state of Iowa. Josh has helped lots of young people fulfill their dreams of competing in the sport of MMA. There are also lots of older guys like me that train at Josh’s gym, for physical fitness and personal growth. 

The reason I wanted to interview Josh is that there is a lot more to Josh’s story than just what you can read about him on Wikipedia. He has a lot of wisdom to share!
