Morena Blvd, at the crossroads of Bay Park and Linda Vista, and within striking distance of every surf spot between Black’s Beach and Sunset Cliffs… welcome to Bird’s Surf Shed. Bird keeps over 1000 surfboards in the Shed, some of which are for sale, many of which you can ride if you just say please. Hear stories about the infamous local surfboard craftsmen of the area, the origin and resurgence of the fish, and the fine line between being a surfer and owning a surfing business.     It’s Sunday night, September 1st 2019, and the first major hurricane of the year Hurricane Dorian is currently blasting the Bahamas and heading towards Florida and the Carolinas. While most people along these coasts are boarding up their windows and packing their emergency bags, surfers from around the world are doing the exact opposite and heading directly towards the eye of the storm.


    It’s officially hurricane season, and the surf is going to get EPIC.

    In this week’s episode we hang out with Ryan Waldron, Senior Meteorologist for Witch’s Rock Surf Camp. Ryan grew up surfing in Virginia Beach and he seriously rips. Ryan also studies swell formation and swell forecasts and knows more on the subject than just about anyone.

    Welcome to the show Adam!


    Adam Greenman got his start in the surfing industry working as a reservationist at Witch’s Rock Surf Camp back in 2002. After a few years, Adam went on to start Trim Surfboards in the UK and became the UK’s main importer of high-end longboards, selling classic logs for upwards of $6000 to the UK’s surfing elite. These days you can find Adam working hard at developing more environmentally friendly surfboards using hemp, plant-based resins, and other forward-thinking materials. Check it out!
