Happy December! The winter weather kind of snuck up on us this week. We’re entering into that time of year where people tend to go into hibernation mode. I think back to when I was younger - I was outside all winter long. My body was used to it - I stayed active outdoors and the winter seemed to fly by.

As I’ve gotten older, the cold feels a little bit colder, and I know it is because I’ve allowed my body to stay warm inside.  This winter lets commit to forcing ourselves out into the cold to get some natural vitamin D - and hopefully condition our bodies to stay active in the cold. Hiking is a great option! This week’s podcast is here to inspire you a bit. This is a replay episode with Wendy Tremblay from She Ascends.

Part 1 - Listen to Singer/Songwriter Samantha Grimes talk about growing up with music and how it lead her into performing. She lovingly calls this phase of her career "Baby Sam". She talks about her first guitar and how a non-traditional playing style (left-handed and upside-down) has lead to her unique sound. After a performing hiatus, a local music studio open house fired her up to put together a band and get back to performing - leading up to signing with Return Records/The Orchard (a Sony Music studio). Stay tuned for part 2 where we talk about signing with Sony and what the future holds for Samantha Grimes.
