Low sound quality

The material in this file is most interesting, including some old time radio favorites. Unfortunately, my children never got to enjoy it in our car trips or even at home, because the sound quality is also unedited old time radio type. I would particularly recommend listening to a sample before downloading.

Editorial Reviews:

Mem Fox's animated, dynamic performance of her own classic Australian children's book bristles with energy as she tells the story of Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge, a young volunteer at a retirement home who forms an unlikely bond with the 96-year-old Miss Nancy Alison Delacourt Cooper and accidentally helps her discover memories she'd seemingly lost forever.

Fox's touching, heartfelt tale is a testament the power of memory and the importance of respecting one's elders, and it is as timeless as it is enchanting.

"[A] fine adaptation of a well-loved story that speaks volumes about friendship, caring, and aging." (Booklist)

Perfect for the car ride with a 3 year old

Our 3-yr old (and ourselves) listened to this about 40 times over a week long trip in the car. The more we (adults) listened to it the cuter the story became. Comes with a great song that retells the story. Cation though. The audio is 40 minutes long but the story is retold with "page-turning prompts" despite there being no book with a download. The story is really about 15 minutes with some nice music at the end of each telling.

Great story for young children!

This is a very sweet story that has a valuable lesson and carries a wonderful flow of rhymes with English undertones. The story is great read for bedtime and/or can be used as a discussion tool for parent to child.

Although it is a children's book, Lefty the Lamb reminds me of my own "scamp of the flock" and the scares he used to give me by some of his not-so-good choices. I choked up when reading: "Mum waded right in, without a thought..." rescuing her little lamb. Hughes' book is about a mother's unconditional love and about the impact of thoughtless actions on the whole family. Lefty Goes On The Lam is a timeless story told in a new poetic way.

The picture book, Lefty Goes On The Lam (The Adventures of Lefty the Lamb) will surely become a favorite of children and adults who enjoy a witty and whimsical sense of humor. It is a delightful children's book that demands to be read aloud for it has the rhythmic cadence of poetry. An entertaining story of the antics and adventures of the endearing lamb, Lefty, it is brought to life by Fiona Hughes's lyrical writing as well as her vivid and enchanting illustrations.

Terrific quality

Neat story, and a good message about families looking out for each other. IÂlove all the expressions on the sheep family! Terrific illustrations. The kids are now asking for bedtime! They enjoy the rhyming verse and finish the sentences aloud with me.ÂAnd it has taught them some new words which is cool, (like kin, and chided) which they like to use now!
