Raymond is the host with the mostskeletons in the closet, that is. Welcome to the Inner Sanctum. It can be murder when brutal better halves take "'til death do us part" as a challenge. What does it sound like when a heart breaks? Maybe it sounds like Raymond's doorcreaking like the opening of a long sealed casket, scraping like the chains of a prisoner on the dungeon floor, squealing like a listener who just can't take the suspense! This spine-chilling set includes 12 digitally restored and remastered stories of star-crossed characters that have loved and losttheir lives.

The Inner Sanctum. . .very enjoyable
I have an extensive Old Time Radio collection going on, and The Inner Sanctum (new to me) is a great addition. Great stories, including commercials, Read by the hosts, The show originally aired sponsored by Lipton soups and Lipton teas.
sound quality is poor...difficult to understand clearly
The title says it all...the shows may have been most interesting and even exciting but the recording quality leaves much to be desired.
not for audio freaks
The beauties of these shows are in the pulpy style they are written and acted. The fact that these treasures have been preserved is a miracle. These programs were made in the 30s and 40s, way before Dolby pro logic, and there in lies the beauty, like a fine antique with its scratches and nicks these shows have their pops and clicks, which only add to the experience of listening to programs 70 years old! It's like saying a painting in the Louvre is no good because it's not in 3d. These are great programs, filled with Raymond's
pre-crypt keeper dark humor, their fun, their clean, and personally, I cherish the opportunity to hear them. Pity today's show have lost
any shred of creativity, and, may I add ,decency sit back, turn the lights off and let the greatest entertainment system in the universe-
,your mind, do its magic.
