As always Vicki Lewis Thompson spins another tale that catches your interest at the very first page, and doesnt loose it to the very last page. She always leaves you with a great feeling and wishing the story was longer!

I do and always will recommend her writing to anyone who likes a good read, a "get you involved" novel.

fun read

Vicki always has good hot sex in her books. This story was a fun read. There was almost to much sex in the story. The story was a true modern day cowboy love story with a rich lady.

New review of Tempted By A Cowboy

This novella by Vicki Lewis Thompson is the second installment in her Perfect Man series. Though I generally lean towards paranormal romance and urban fantasy I couldn't help but pick up this title. After all, what country girl doesn't have a thing for cowboys....right? After finishing this story I was very pleased I'd given into the temptation (see what I did there? Haha!).

The story begins innocently enough. Fletch watching over his favorite broodmare's worrisome labor with Astrid, his vet and the woman who'd caught and held his eye for sometime now. He's aware of Astrid's `no client dating' policy, but is willing to put in the time to make her change her mind. Little did he know after a first kiss, a near death experience, and a harrowing rescue in the space of one evening, he'd get his chance sooner than he'd ever thought possible.

Astrid has long been attracted to Fletch. Her favorite client and the most caring man she'd ever met. Be it for the men who called him boss, or the animals in his care. Astrid's need to keep her business strictly business to avoid damaging the reputation of her clinic was not the only reason she worked to dampen her feelings for this man. The knowledge that they were from two very different worlds was always a nagging thought in the back of her mind.

Sexy Agent and Damsel in Distress

FINAL DECISION: This story is unrealistic and simplistic but has larger than life characters and a sense of fun and lightness that are enjoyable. The hero is simply adorable.

THE STORY: In the middle of the night a knock comes on the door of Derek Ross, troubleshooter and sometimes government agent. Derek opens the door to find a beautiful woman dressed in an evening gown. Shannon Brown has come to find Derek after fleeing for her life. Someone is trying to kill her and she comes to Derek for protection. In trying to find out who is after the sweet, innocent Shannon, Derek finds that he cannot resist the woman who doesn't believe in her own beauty.

OPINION: I loved this book primarily because Derek is such a sweetheart. Here is an man who is rich, smart, a secret agent and also incredibly considerate the the damsel in distress.

Less than one star!

Completely uneventful. So boring and predictable and dumb. It was the third book in a row I had started that was bad so I forced myself to finish. Very frustrating.

The narration was horrible and painful. Drug out every sentence so that everything felt so dramatic, even the light moments. I feel as though I have heard this narrator before but not sure where. Maybe under a different name?? I didn't like it then either. Pleasant voice, just bad at narrating. Not only do I wish I had my money back but I wish I had my 5 hours and 43 minutes. I had heard it was good so I kept hanging on but I must have heard wrong because it wasn't. Very frustrating.

Momma Max & her secrets was my favorite. The people around her only saw the smile she put on & they all enjoyed her hospitality, but they never knew her pain. You're never too old to learn.

"Divine Read"

I have enjoyed this series so far. The outcome of this installment has me questioning where the drama will lead. I will say that I was highly disappointed in King but it's a bed he will have to sleep in. I honestly cannot wait to see where the decisions that were made by the members of these congregations will lead.
