Enthralling

The final book in this series, Mosaic, was just released, and now Iâm scrambling to catch up. The whole series has been so solid, and its conclusion is bittersweet. Iâll definitely miss these characters. On the other hand, the tension has been building for so long now, I feel like they deserve a happy ending. It will be happy, right? RIGHT?!

Iâm not so sure about never-ending happiness after reading this third installment. It felt more like someone had lit a fuse and Iâm just waiting for an explosion. I have followed Anna through her rocky relationship with Jack, through her eye-opening dip into the past, and now through her relationship with Julian. Their bond feels so tenuous at times. Renee seems to constantly be waiting to pounce, and I know that Jack isnât completely finished with Anna yet. Iâm a little terrified about what mischief he has up his sleeve.

What I love about Leighâs writing is that itâs crisp and clean. It isnât overly embellished or flowery. Itâs concise, and while the pace of the story isnât what you could call thrilling, it is enthralling. I find I can easily disappear for a few hours and step into another world, another life. Iâm not usually a huge Romance (with a capital R) fan, but this series has kept me hanging on right to the end.

Now, youâll have to excuse me as I will be diving straight into Mosaic now. ;)

Second favorite one in the series

This one really took a different turn than I was expecting with their long distance relationship. I thought for sure we would get the HEA I was hoping for since book 1 but nooooo, LTM had to leave me in suspense again! I mean, yeah, they are together but they have to go to seperate colleges hundreds of miles away from each other. And their relationship is really in the beginning stages still!

Ok, Iâm not really complaining. This book is my second favorite in the series because we finally see the love blossom for Anna and Julian. Although I have to say that for someone who claims such strong feelings for Anna, he didnât seem like he was too broken up about the long distance as she was. I know heâs got a lot going on with his new family but come on! You pursued her through two books, now that you have her you are like âcalm down, weâll see each other when we see each other.â

Or maybe Anna is just so in love with him it seems she physically canât live without him. I think this really touches on how difficult long distance relationships can really be. I donât know how well I would have taken it to be away from the one I loved and just found for a whole four years.

My favorite in this series

This one is probably my favorite out of the series. It has the most drama, mystery and romance out of all four books. It it has some really great layers with flashbacks.

I think its awesome that Anna is the the outsider looking in to Lexy, Bill and Meganâs life. She provides an unbiased opinion and at the same time, you can see the parallel to her own relationship issues. I really enjoyed the fact that she is so unsure with herself and she is aware that she needs time to process all her tumultuous feelings instead of jumping into something she will regret later.

Anna shows a lot of growth in this book I think. She matures even more with her ability to keep a secret and her firm resolve to focus on herself. She has some slip ups but does not give up. She has great drive to be good in her chosen career and while she feels intimidated she doesnât allow that to detour her quest for the truth.

Julian takes his attraction to Anna up a notch. He is sweet, patient and isnât afraid to show affection to her. He starts to open up to her about himself and we dive beneath their surface feelings in this one. I mean, how could you not love him when he starts revealing his fears and what drives his passion for art? ::Le sigh:: He is showing Anna how much he cares for her by trusting her with his private thoughts. I find this incredibly sexy.

Love it!

Out of all the books in this series, Undertow is my favorite. I love the different perspectives and I believe the writing was better than the other three books. I love the series but Anna is a little hard to sympathize, so in this book, not having her as the main focus was very interesting. The turn of events is very sad, and unfortunately someone out there might have a similar story. I know a lot of people probably have Alex after reading Meg's side, but at the end of the day, Alex is human and everyone makes mistakes. Yes, what she did was very low, considering who Meg was to her, but, you can't help who you love. She should just have done things differently. But this book truly was wonderful, I love the character development, the writing, the scenery descriptions, and the emotions. I was heartbroken at the end, and it's hard to find a book like that, especially in YA.

A great story from a favorite author.

I'm always up for a book by one of my favorite authors. Megan, and her (now) husband write some of the most captivating stories a reader could ask for. Part of what makes this couple so captivating is that they write in each other's worlds. Of course the rest is the sheer power of their storytelling.

In Fighting for You, Megan takes us into the world of the Russian mafia and an orphan rescued by the man heading the Chicago arm of said mafia. This is given to us as the story behind the now adult orphan as an explanation for why he continues to take part in illegal matches. Why they're illegal is for you to read. Nikolai's world is a rough one with only one goal... win the next match.

Natasha is Rusakov's very sheltered and much loved daughter. When she meets Nikolai for the first time, both their world's are shaken. She is as eager to keep her secrets from Nikolai as he is to keep his from her. When being the daughter of a mafia is your life, trouble and betrayal are never far away.

There is very little that is sweet about this story, but there is a lot going on that kept me turning the next page. Whether your chosen format is digital or print, there's no denying Megan is an enthralling storyteller. I devoured this book in a very short time, in one sitting. I'm hoping for more to follow this one. I really enjoyed the characters.

This book is by turns tense with secrets that must be kept and taut with forbidden passion. Megan knows how to weave the two into an un-put-downable story. I very much want to give her 5 stars, but there were a few errors that were missed in editing. 4.8 anyone? Sigh. 4 stars it is.

Falling in love with every brother!

This series just keeps getting better and better. Just when you think another brother can't be as good as the last, you fall in love all over again. I found Alex to be the most compassionate and vulnerable of the English brothers so far. His relationship with Jess was sweet and hot, and you just couldn't help rooting for them from the very start. The family dynamic of all the brothers of Blueberry Lane runs deep and I love the way they are all intertwined together. To have Jess's brothers introduced as the overprotective group of men is a great way to keep me interested in wanting to keep reading. They all have large personalities and can't wait til their stories come out in audio. As always though, I am looking forward to Stratton and Westin's stories to come out!

Lauren Sweet gives us another wonderful performance.

This was a really good follow up to the first two books! I thought a book about

Alex settling down would be the last book. Glad it was not, as it made a good third addition!

A Great Finale- Love The Wilder Family

A great finale to the series of Sweet, Texas. The perfect read full of emotion, happy tears, sad tears and lots of laughing. Jake, alpha wounded marine and Annabelle, single mom with the cutest toddler reconnect. There is an instant attraction but then Jake gets scared, he has inner demons that he needs to work though on the death of his fellow marine. Annabelle is that perfect person to help move along in life.

It was great to catch up with the rest of the Wilder family, love babies and weddings! Candis Terry, I am going to miss the Wilder family, but excited to meet your new friends. Highly recommend for small town romance lovers!

Another incredible book in the Sweet, TX series. This is the last one and what a fantastic way to end it! Jake Wilder's back in Sweet for good. Injured, discharged from the marines, and dealing with his last mission that was beyond FUBAR, he now has to figure out what to do with his life. Single mom Annabelle Morgan has had a crush on Jake Wilder all her life but he's never really noticed her. He's noticing her now, is she ready for that????

Definitely a book for everyone's must read list. I recommend it.

Missing Sweet, Texas already!

Candis Terry is a joy to read and her books bring me so much happiness every time I finish one.

Truly Sweet is an amazing way to end such a fantastic series! Once you start reading, you won't be able to stop until you find out how Annie and Jake are going to get their HEA...and don't worry they get one.

I loved Jake as a character. Even though he's home from the Marines with an injury and so much guilt tied to him, he's one of those characters that you just want to hug. Although, Annie might have a problem with that.

Annie has been in love with Jake since she was sixteen, but of course he never noticed her.

Good book

Good book that started with a rush and kept up the tension until the end. Aiden arrives home from work to find attorney Kendall O'Neal in his house, along with two gunmen holding her hostage. In exchange for her life, they want Aiden to destroy evidence in a murder case. Aiden isn't inclined to cooperate until he discovers that Kendall is pregnant with his baby. He knows he has to find a way out of the situation and keep Kendall safe. Even after a hair raising escape, Kendall isn't safe, and Aiden is determined to protect her.

Aiden and Kendall have known each other most of their lives. They were friends as children, until Aiden's father was murdered, presumably by Kendall's half sister. This started years of bad blood between the two families, but didn't diminish the attraction between them when they became adults. Three months earlier they gave in to that attraction, even though they knew it was a mistake. Now Kendall is pregnant and someone is trying to use that information to affect the upcoming murder trial.

The sparks between Kendall and Aiden are fierce, but both try to fight it. Aiden is stunned by the news of Kendall's pregnancy, but is determined to be a part of the baby's life. It isn't too long before they realize that what they feel is more than just physical, and that their love is more important than anything else.Â

The mystery behind the attacks is one that wasn't easy to figure out. There were multiple suspects, each one having the motivation to influence how the trial goes. The attacks were intense and kept me wondering what was going to happen next, and when were they finally going to get a break in the case. Throughout the series, emotions have run hot on whether or not Jewell killed Whitt. With each book, more information comes to light, but the conclusion isn't clear yet.

OK story ruined by periodically turning a reasonably intelligent heroine into a moron to further the plot.

Pleasant Suprise

Where does The Lost Art: A Romantic Comedy rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

It is definitely at the top for it's genre. I am more of a sci-fi/fantasy fan but decided to branch out a little. It didn't take long to get pulled into the story.

What did you like best about this story?

Probably the characters. They aren't all exactly what they seem and it keeps the story interesting.

What does Natalie Duke bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

She did an awesome job with the narration. Having a good reader always brings the story to life in a way that i just don't get reading it myself.

Decent rom com

This makes no bones about its characters or a set of fairly outrageous premises. If you liked Day and Hudson a generation ago, you'll like it.

The narrator needs to SLOW DOWN, though. In places it sounds like an adolescent girl racing through a script.

Eyeroll

Not a romcom, I don't think I laughed once. Really cheesy and inconsistent plot details. Not a book for the avid 'romance' category readers. Only a few lukewarm make out sessions, some of the YA books I have read have been steamier!

Ugh. Gag me!

This book wasnt for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

People who enjoy to be mentally tortured. Honestly. I can't believe I made it all the way through. I should have stopped listening in the beginning, but I guess I'm a glutton.

Major points are constantly reiterated over and over and over. This is a good example of how not to write a story my friends. If you listened to this book and enjoyed it then I'm happy for you. You are a much better person than I. I was practically gagging the final ten chapters. It was so overwhelmingly lovey dovey that I think it all could be cut out. I'm pretty sure people driving next to me were laughing at me because I was screaming, "Oh come on!" and "Really? Are you kidding me?"

Don't get me wrong I find it entertaining when the boy gets the girl or visa versa, but come on. If you say I love his back or I love her hips one more time I think I might just throw up.

Oh, and why is this guy so unbelievably perfect? He's a football player who has perfect rich supportive parents who only want him to be happy. He's in college yet he has enough money to buy a new house on a whim and furniture and blah blah blah. You name it he does it. He cooks, he watches romantic movies, he reads What to Expect When You're Expecting, he constantly thinks about how in love he is, and more and more and more. Any character trait you have always wanted in a man is what he is. It's sickening.

Anyway, if you read this review, then please think twice about torturing yourself with this audiobook. And if you didn't good for you. Because I just ranted for three paragraphs about a story that I hated. I can't even believe I spent time writing this.

I didn't read the first book. I'm sure this was a stand alone but I felt a little lost since I didn't know them as friends first (book 1). I came in with the blurred lines of 20-year old college students. Jade wanted Reid; she got him and then pushed him away. Reid wanted Jade but she didn't want that for them (but really she did). That's the kind of yo-yo book this was. They want one another but they don't want one another. Narrators were good. This book had no steam and nothing to make me smile about. There was too much unnecessary drama. I couldn't finish this listen fast enough! I'm glad I did not use a credit on this. It was part of the 30-day Romance trial package
