In this episode of Get the Picture, we’re speaking to award winning Cinematographer David Wright. After studying film at Sheffield Hallam University, David has gone on to shoot hundreds of music videos, working with artists such Slow Thai x Skepta, Drake and Charlie XCX. He’s shot countless commercials for iconic brands like Rolls Royce, Turkish Airlines, Apple, Samsung, Vodafone, MAC cosmetics, the list goes on. He’s also shot a plethora of award-winning short films, and most recently the feature film ‘Kindling’ starring Sex Ed’s George Somner, Mia Mckenna Bruce and Conrad Khan.

In this week’s episode, we welcome Photographer Zek Snaps. Zek has been a prolific photographer over the years after purchasing his first camera at an early age. Initially getting his break covering events, Zek has gone on to photograph the likes of Akon, Krept & Konan, J Hus, Central Cee, Skepta and pretty much every British artist you can think of. Zek is now Editor at Nigerian-based publication Deeds Magazine.

Sam is a British Cinematographer who studied at the Bournemouth Film School, before jumping straight into the fast paced world of music videos. In this space, he has lit videos for some of the UK’s biggest artists including the likes of Stormzy & Ed Sheeran, Little Simz, Stef London, Ghetts and Anne Marie. Sam is now represented by United Talent Agency and works predominantly in commercials and film.

On this week'd episode, we welcome a director duo who go by the names of Meeks & Frost. Responsible for some of the most iconic music videos in London’s new school rap scene, brothers Meeks and Frost have become the go to directors within the scene. They initially made waves with their official debut video ‘Front Line’ for artist Pa Salieu, which racked up millions of views. They have since been at the helm of videos for J Hus, M Huncho, Millions, Flo as well as dabbling in branded work for Ciroc Vodka, Ikea, Spotify and Apple Music.

Paul is a BAFTA winning Film & TV Editor who after leaving school at 16 went straight to work at various postproduction houses as a Runner. After working his way up, he went to edit Sacha Baron Cohen’s debut comedy film Ali G Indahouse and episodes of BBC period crime-drama Peaky Blinders.

Miguel is a Cinematographer hailing from Ecuador in South America who moved to London to pursue his ambitions. Since relocating, he has amassed credits for the likes of Central Cee, Burna Boy, KSI and rapper Chip. Miguel is now represented by Independent Talent and is actively working in commercials and film, with recent work for Samsung, QuickBooks, McLaren and Avon.

After making her first short film with university friends on a shoestring budget, Shelia Nortley fell into Producing and gradually the scale got bigger and more ambitious. Now she’s Produced Netflix’s drama series Stay Close, starring Cush Jumbo and Richard Armitage and has wrapped post-production on Rapman’s upcoming sci-fi series Supacell for Netflix.
