As Christians we all struggle to stay on the path of the Lord. How can we keep in step with the Lord and his will and love?

In the midst of sorrow and pain we can experience the “joy of the Lord.” (Nehemiah 8:10)

Unity in the Body of Christ is beautiful. Psalm 133:1 says, “How good and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters live together in unity!”

Our dependence on God is total. Therefore Psalm 18:2 says, “God is my Rock in whom I take refuge!” He’s my “Rock of Ages.”

Think of times in your life when you really felt a need for God’s presence. Author Henry Francis Lyte (1793-1847) was dying when he wrote the hymn “Abide with Me” and the words: “I need Thy presence every passing hour…”

When the father of Gospel music Thomas Dorsey (1899-1993) “saw the wind” when his wife and child died within days of each other, he wrote a song to sing through the storm: “Precious Lord, Take My Hand.” It’s a hymn we all need to sing.

Whose side is God on during a conflict? Abraham Lincoln said, “I do not boast that God is on my side. I humbly pray that I am on God’s side.” Daniel 2:21 says God “sets up kings and deposes them.”

After the death of a loved one, Bart Millard responded with a song. What are some hope-filled ways we can respond to the Lord who understands during times of loss?

Father’s Day reminds us that we all have a Father who knows our name and will never leave us nor forsake us. Psalm 68:5 comforts us with the truth that he’s a “Father to the fatherless.”
