When his work was done, John was ready to fade into the background. He wanted to let Jesus be elevated because he is the only Savior.

The word “canceled” is not negative when God tells he has canceled our sins by nailing them to a cross. We are forgiven!

John understood what it meant to be a forerunner. His mission was to point to someone else. John directed people to Jesus.

Our hands and hearts and mouths are stained by sin. Through the blood of Jesus, our sins have been completely washed clean.

Isaiah foretold of the forerunner of Jesus. John came to prepare the way for the Lord. He prepared hearts for Jesus’ coming.

Jesus is coming back. That truth shapes the way we live. We look forward to Jesus’ return and the eternity we will enjoy.

Contentment is an elusive quality. Yet, as redeemed people of God, we have every reason to live contented lives. We give thanks for God’s blessings we have in Jesus.

Despite our sins, God does not abandon us. He has adopted us into his family and calls us his sons and daughters.
