For this episode I speak with my dear friend Julius. Julius is about to open a guest house in Oviedo, Spain - something he has been dreaming about for many years. We talk about how breakdown and depression forced him to confront himself with the loss of his father, who died suddenly, when Julius was just five years old. Going through old fears and grief he understood that due to this event he developed a negative self image based on blame and self limiting beliefs. By using mindfulness and understanding his thought patterns he learned to face discomfort, difficult emotions, fully accept himself and build trust and confidence. Julius shares how years of volunteering and running a hostel in Ireland taught him to deal with challenges and uncertainties like the Covid pandemic but also helped him to grow further as a person and creator of his life to where he is now. And we speak about our friendship that has deepened during all these years and what it is that makes a real friendship last.
