My favorite book for students.

Sick of "how to" books, as an avid listener of audiobooks, I like well researched, well presented, compressed books that are narrated by the author. this one scores on all counts. as if they had audio rather then print in mind all along!

As an academic student I've long since been looking for someone to give me the gist of how to study, without patronizing tones and "you can do it" over piano music. Medina really gives you intuitive yet academic based understanding of what methods are best to help you study

This book has finally caused me to get off the computer and go excercise, for my brain's sake.

I'll recommend this to my patients

I enjoyed the book and thought that it was written in an accessible and entertaining manner. The points are familiar and not surprising to those working in the field. However, I'm a psychologist and many of my patients are not aware of the extreme impact that lack of exercise, stress and sleep have on the brain and your ability to think.

I believe that this book was written with the intent to make work and school environments more human places - that support learning and creativity. Many people berate themselves because they simply feel like they don't measure up when it's really an environment that is bad for brains.

Medina has made an excellent case for changing the world for the better and I hope that teachers and managers take notice.

Great Book!

A very brainy book by an entertaining scientist. Throughly enjoyed listening to it and I have recommended it to at least 5 other friends.

Because of this book I am now walking 5 days a week for at least 30 minutes per day. When you listen to this book and understand how 30 minutes a day of walking can make a difference it makes an impression. It is amazing how more motivating it is to walk for your brain vs. your figure.

the piano gets a little grating after a few dozen listens but the message gets through. We have been given so many negative messages getting something this positive into our nerual network is invalueable.

This was a wonderful book. I would recommend this for anyone wondering where life's road is taking them. Lucado makes you stop and think about the fact that God makes us and molds us into what HE wants us to be. A good listen - now I want the book in text version!

Redefined My Sense of Self and My Direction

First off, I read a lot of self-help books (predominantly Christian) and try to make the most of myself with what God has given me. This book BLEW ME AWAY. Lucado's ability to take nameless issues that pulled at my heart and define them opened my eyes to show me what God has in store for me.

While this book is certainly a must read, it's not a sure thing by any means. You MUST reflect and assess yourself while reading, but his style and humor make these efforts both fun and enlightening. He provided a new twist of self-evaluation techniques that I'd never read before and found to be quite effective.

This book is at the top of my list for recommendations to friends and family whether they're looking for a self-help book or just want a good read. Lucado finds a way to keep it light and fresh without losing the inherent emphasis on self-study and adaptation.

I consider this book to be an absolute companion to The 5 Love Languages, in my personal opinion. They both teach you how to love more efficiently and effectively. One for yourself, and one for others.

If you've ever wanted to do something for yourself, or desired a glimpse of what you're meant for, give this book a chance. It changed my life & I pray that it changes yours too.

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this audiobook. I plan to listen to it again with my husband and then I will have my teens listen to it. I have been a Christian for most of my life and this book motivated me to look deeper into where my "sweet spot" is.

Each life is uniquely uncommon.

Narrator had great inflections that made listening a simple thing. I loved the principle taught--we all are equipped for a life purpose.

Insightful, poses a challenge

This booklet is a kick in the pants if you're feeling stuck.

However it gives a lot of focus to what people are doing wrong, rather than offering an actionable plan to go forth.

I've listened to it mainly to get inspired out of a rut.

It is delivered in a creative and clever way, always entertaining.

How Nice for Him

It must be nice to have evolved so far above mere humans that you can speak to them with such judgment and condescension. I, for one, was not amused. Does he accurately describe the mistaken approaches that people use to try to meet their needs, often resulting in lives of quiet desperation? Yes. However, rather than sharing his own struggle as a fellow traveler in this life, he positions himself as a bemused observer with a snap-out-of-it solution. Perhaps I have misinterpreted his tone because of cultural differences. I hope so. If my perception is accurate, he is also living a life of quiet desperation.

I stumbled across this book this morning, I wasn't looking for it so think the Unuverse directed me to just what I needed.

I've listened to and read numerous Law of Attraction books and got a good grip on so much as a result. But I think this book was the missing link as to why I was still so stuck.

Anyone reading this, go with your gut feeling, if you are drawn to this book and Stuart Wilde, give it a go, I am so pleased I did.

If you are ready for it, it is great.

If I had listened to this a year ago, I would have made fun of it. Between a really emotionally rough year, this audio book, and Michael Singer's The Untethered Soul, it has really re-shaped the way I think and control my emotions and negative inner voice. I will be listening to the second half repeatedly when I start feeling stressed.

Great book!Pretty much on the money of many issues

Great exercises to try. Not disappointed for my first book by this author. Pretty much agreed with everything she said. Before finishing, I started considering to communicate openly with my mother of my thoughts about our relationship, especially bad things. I want things to be cleaned and cleared up before it's too late to communicate. She's not an easy person to talk to, so maybe I'll put it in writing before discussing.

Great collection of stories, mixed narration

This is a wonderful collection of inspirational, sometimes humorous stories about nursing. There were many places I laughed out loud and a few spots that brought a lump to my throat. There are several different narrators although they are not all listed here. Some of them are good, others not as much. It's worth the purchase though.

Keeps Getting Better!

In so much of his writings, Deepak Chopra brings spriritual practices and beliefs that are more commonplace in the east to our stongly "left-brain" culture. He has an incredible talent for presenting it to us in a way that suits the western mind. When I first listened I would think, "Yes, that's right! Of course I should express gratitude! I know that!" However, the real value of this book lies not so much in these revelations at the conscious thinking level, but in repeated listening(or reading), as Chopra recommends. Then the full wisdom of the book gradually and mysteriously begins seeping into your soul. Then you will experience, as I am, an inner transformation occurring. And so, I continue to listen! Try it and you won't be disappointed.

not the slam dunk I'm used to

Yes, this is a cheep short book. I thought it would be fun. I'm a big fan of Dr. Chopra, but this isn't a very good book. Most of this information can be found in other books of his. He basically goes through the alphabet and lists terms that if you embrace will create affuence.... like A stands for ... B stands for...C stands for. If you want to buy your first Chopra audiobook I would recommend "Peace is the Way"

You create what you bring into your life

Here the author goes through the steps and process of creating affluence in your life. Creating affluence is more than wealth in terms of money and possessions. It also means abundance and plenty which all flow from the Universe.

You will learn to watch your thinking and manifest into your life that which you want and how to get rid of what you dont want. You won't be able to simply discard what you don't want anymore, you must face it. This book will help you immensely.
